PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

United States Marine Corps August 2013- Present

Military Defense Travel System Technician

·  Certifying/ Approval official for Defense Travel System (DTS), ensuring that all travel claims are paid accurately within the Marine Corps allotted time frame, and within the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and Marine Corps travel policy.

·  Assist the DTS help desk with the reconciliation of traveler’s Government Travel Charge Cards (GTCC) and contact individuals to assure they avoid delinquency on their GTCC.

·  Perform weekly training to personnel to leverage subject matter expertise to build the competency of the Defense Travel System section.

·  Served as liaison for technical and administrative issues related to the Defense Travel System.

·  Processed 1,200 DTS travel claims monthly and disbursed over $1Million.

·  Assisted the Quantico Finance office to pass the Marine Corps Administration Analysis Team (MCAAT) inspection and received the highest rating in the Defense Travel System section throughout the entire Marine Corps. Receiving a certificate of commendation.

Military Travel Technician June 2008– August 2013

·  Processed 500 travel vouchers monthly for service member’s traveling to and from permanent change of stations(PCS), and as well as temporary duty(TDY) sites, maintaining 97.6% accuracy rating using the Integrated Automated Travel System (IATS).

·  Performed weekly, monthly, and quarterly briefings to those separating/ retiring, informing service members of their military travel pay entitlements.

·  Ensured that outstanding travel advances (OTA’s) are reconsolidated dated back from 2006-2011 properly recouping $4,220,210.68 in military travel funds.

·  Provide monthly feedback on action taken and current status of the monthly OTA report to Marine Corps Payroll Reconciliation Team (MCPRT).

·  Ensuring that the Standard Accounting and Budgeting Systems (SABRS) is updated and balanced out correctly to close prior fiscal year accounts.

·  Processed and produced waivers for Wounded Warriors ensuring there accounts are finalized and have no monies pending with in the SABRS system.
