Story and context for current trend / Story and context for current trend
Cardiff West has recognises health issues as a principal concern for the area. Though not the highest relative to some of the other Neighbourhood Management areas, all cause mortality figures need to be addressed through a series of health related activities. Many of the health issues relate to the population profile which is characterised by an aging population. Between 2005 and 2010 the Cardiff West population for 60+ grew by 8.1% compared to 4.5% for Cardiff as a whole. As well as health, issues associated with an aging population, issues associated with isolation are prevalent. / In terms of motor-cycle annoyance Cardiff West has moved from having the lowest number of incidents to now having the fourth highest with a total of 131 incidents. As well as the obvious increase in the number of incidents, residents have identified this as a particular problem. There are 9 distinct hot spot areas, 6 of which are in close proximity to one another. Reports indicate 63 locations, many of which relate to the woodland areas and nearby fields.
Issue: Community Cohesion / Issues
