Minutes of the Community Council Meeting held at the Hundred House Hall,

Hundred House on 6th September 2017

Minutes: Minutes of the previous meeting were signed and confirmed as a true record.

Correspondence:

A thank you letter was received from Mr Ralph Bradley regarding the community council support for the planning application for the youth hostel in Glascwm.

A letter was received from Chris Davies MP offering a visit to The Palace of Westminster. Members decided to see if Edw Valley YFC would be taking up the same offer and could combine the trip with them.

Information was received from PCC regarding the £1.6 investment in the Archives and Information Management Services and the services new facility at 29 Ddole Road. Equipment to ensure humidity and temperature control has been installed and improved customer facilities, including access for people with disabilities provided.

Received from PCC were details of the Well Being Plan. You can have you say on the draft vision for Powys in 2040 and four Well-Being Objectives. For further information http://www.powys.gov.uk/en/community-development/sustainability-and-the-council

An e-mail was received from C Cllr Rosemarie Harris requesting contact information for businesses operating in the community. Members decided to find out more about what the information will be used for.

Information was received about the Cymraeg 2050 Grant. The scheme is an opportunity to increase the use of the Welsh Language through technology and promote or facilitate the use of the Welsh Language. For further details visit www.gov.wales/welshlanguage

Received from WG were details on “Clustering: Funding to support the initial setting up of joint arrangements” Further information is required and will be sought.

Conformation was received of the successful candidates for the Standards Sub-Committee. They are: Hugh Pattrick (Ystradfellte CC) – Brecknockshire, Joy Shearer (Tregynon CC) – Montgomeryshire and Margaret Morris (Glasbury TC) – Radnorshire.

Finance:

A letter was received from AON stating that they would no longer be involved in the Local Council market so would not be offering renewal terms for the policy at the next renewal date. Arrangements have been made for a renewal information to be made by BHIB Ltd.

Receive from Grant Thornton was notice of the conclusion of audit for accounts for year ending 31.03.17.

Planning:

Received was application P/2017/0834 - Erection of two holiday accommodation units etc at Upper House, Howey. Full support was given by all members.

Received application P/2017/0274 – Chicken Shed at The Drewen. This was an application that has been resubmitted and members were in agreement to support the application as submitted with the first application.

A request was made to find out if members of the public / Councillors would be allowed to speak at the hearing to discuss The Hendy Wind Farm. It was agreed that the clerk would contact the planning department.

Highways Issues:

There is a pothole opposite Maesyfelin on the Franksbridge road and also on the road opposite the Llandre and on Perthi Common. The sign for Hundred House in Llansantffraed is covered in algae. The salt box at the end of C Cllr Mackenzie’s road has been demolished by the grass cutting. The road above The Nant has bad edge deterioration.
