Title: Contract Web Designer

Companies & Duties:

General Physics(October 2011 – November 2011) - Professional Training & Coaching web site agency. I formatted HTML, CSS, and Flash for training courses. All production was performed off site using Subversion for version control (specifically Tortoise SVN), and Basecamp for work management.

LM&O Advertising(September 2011) - Marketing and Advertising agency located in Arlington. There I designed, edited, and creating Flash web banners in multiple sizes (around 64 total) for their client Army National Guard's college financial program. This contract also included layout of new graphics and light coding of HTML emails. Introduced advance Flash animation for banner, and applied solution for web site jQuery functionality.

Fathom Creative(August & September 2011) – Contract for the month of August, extended twice into September 2011, to apply CSS styling to web sites that are being ported over to client's proprietary CMS. Challenges included overriding exiting CSS and formatting HTML markup provided by client. Sites include: KJCT8.com, KESQ.com, Localnews8.com, KTVZ.com, KRDO.com, and KVIA.com

Delucchi Plus(May 2011) - Worked a short term contract and updated content on client web sites which included Flash edits, use of CMS to update web sites, graphic changes and edits to scripts. Updates to Google Maps API. Facebook Tab page edits.
Campaign Workshop’s Governorsofmisfortune.com (April 2011) –Freelance PHP database connectivity for collecting user information. Automation for forwarding HTML email and applied logic for determining state from ZIP code.
The Pivot Group’s Dropmarge.com(April 2011)– Freelance design and creation of landing page which also collected user information to MySQL database.
Contributions: Successfully completed client work within budget and as scheduled.

Title:Contract Web Designer
Company: ICF Internationalcontract form 6-9 months that was extended to a year. There I worked on NIAAA alcohol prevention web sites and others, rethinkingdrinking.niaaa.nih.gov, toosmarttostart.samhsa.gov, thecoolspot.gov, dydpassitforward.com, niaaaspectrum.gov, and collegedrinkingprevention.gov, which uses a .NET and classic ASP frameworks. I was involved with redesign and implementing the design to these web sites which included graphic creation/optimization, CSS and HTML layout. I also designed and created interactive/animated Flash, and static banners.
Duties: Design, create and edit web sites and Flash banners.
Contributions: Worked patiently through numerous re-workings of designs to meet client's needs. Completed work before deadlines.

Company: State Department Federal Credit Union is a cooperative financial institution located in Alexandria, VA.

Duties: Editing web site, creating Flash banners and kiosk/plasma screen animations as well as print layout and design.

Contributions: Was recommended by colleague from MSHC Partners who is spearheading their web site redesign.

Title: Interactive Graphic Designer

Company: MSHC Partners offers campaigns an integrated approach to voter contact that includes mail, micro targeting and interactive services.

Duties: Develop creative concepts and built multiple size Flash animated and interactive banners. Vendor ActionScript used for visitor tracking. Designed/built landing pages and micro sites reflecting look/feel of banners. I worked closely with Print Designers, Traffic Manager and Art Director to complete tasks within scheduled timeline.

Title: Temporary and contract positions while searching for permanent placement.

Companies: Aquent (contract for Vertex), Profiles (contracts for Vovici and the Hill Group) and Mind Bank (contract for Danya/Head Start)

Duties: Vertex: Updating Flash interactive content and animations. Vovici: Created HTML e-mails and updates to company web site. Danya/Head Start: Created CSS for .NET developers and created UI design layouts for user requirements and developer capabilities. The Hill Group: Created Flash intro., content updates and corrected gallery function.

Title: Multimedia Designer

Company: The National Retail Federation is the world's largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet, independent stores, chain restaurants, drug stores and grocery stores as well as the industry's key trading partners of retail goods and services. As the industry umbrella group, NRF also represents more than 100 state, national and international retail associations.

Duties: Design, create and apply NRF's general layout and appearance for divisions, departments, and events. Assembled and trained team from divisions/departments for online and off-line content management systems. Other responsibilities include PowerPoint templates, marketing e-mails, banners, web site tracking and resolution of technical issues.

Contributions: Converted web sites for NRF's Foundation, which consisted of 6 CDs, for a savings of $45k (price quoted from outside vendor). Designed, created, and placed content and graphics for user interface. Web site designs often entailed matching themes determined by VP of Marketing. This was performed for NRF, it's divisions, departments, conference and executive meeting web sites. Communicated with outside vendors (large event hosting companies such as ExpoExchange) about graphics placement, content layout and style specifications. Created print materials such as mailings, magazine ads and outdoor signage, which may also reflect a pre-established design theme. Video optimization via compression and editing for download.

Title: Interactive Media Designer/Senior Artist

Company: Capital Webtec, located in Maryland, was an interactive media development firm specializing in the design and implementation of web sites and other interactive media.

Duties: Create and maintain web sites or multimedia CDs. Scanned, manipulated and/or created optimized images (vector or bitmap) for web posting and multimedia projects. Worked closely with clients to convey their ideas in a visually interesting manner over the internet, accomplished by use of thoughtful and eye catching imagery, Flash animated introductions, interactivity, dynamic content, and coherent navigation.

Contributions: Managed projects, which entailed correspondence with clients (government and private business) and bringing projects through full cycle beginning to completion (i.e. search engine optimization). Duties: Redesign and create product labels for Dragon Corporation's 100th Anniversary.

Contributions: Considerations of EPA and printer specifications were strictly observed (i.e. copy regulations, template creation and graphical presentation). Completed more than 100 labels for canisters, bottles, boxes, etc.
