All safety programs use a wide variety of teaching tools such as; videos, graphics, written material, interactive games and activities which allow us to better meet the needs of the people partto meet the needs of the participants in the class.

RED CROSS BABYSITTER’S COURSE (11-15 years old)
Does your teen or tween enjoy being with children? Do they want to earn some extra money?
TheRed Cross Babysitting Coursewill provide the training they need.
This Babysitter training course is designed for youth aged 11 – 15. Participants learn how to run a smallbabysitting business and how to supervise younger siblings or other children in a safe and responsible manner. Aspiring babysitters also learn basic first aid skills.
Course content:
- How to find clients and make money babysitting
- Caring for children of all ages
- Creating safe environments and preventing accidents
- Fire safety and prevention
- What to do in an emergency
- Good decision-making and leadership skills
- Basic First Aidskills
Youth will take home the Red Cross Babysitting Manual and certification card.
HOME ALONE SAFETY FOR KIDS (9-12 years old)
Is your child ready to stay home alone?TheHome Alone Safety forKidsprogram helps children and their families get ready for their child’s first steps towards independence and being without adult supervision.
Courses are currently available in Oakville, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Hamilton and Ajax.
This safety program is ideally suited for children aged 9-12 years old. Safety and accident prevention are the common theme throughout the program. The information is relevant and current.Course content includes
- Street smarts and bike safety
- People safety (Stranger danger vs. Safe strangers and “not-so stranger” danger)
- Online and internet safety
- Snacking and kitchen safety
- Home fire safety
- Sibling rivalry
- Preventing accidents
- How to handle emergencies and other situations
- Basic first aid skills
The unique delivery model of ourHome Alone Safety for Kidsprogram reaches children of all learning-types. Innovative digital and traditional gaming techniques provide a fun and positive learning environment. Engaged participants learn valuable life skills to help them make safer choices when on their own.
All participants will receive theHome Alone Safety For Kidsmanual and wallet-sized certificate of attendance.
My Safe Lifeis a personal safety program designed for children 7 – 10 years. Traditional gaming, digital media, video, role play and repetition are used to educate and engage children in a fun and interactive manner. Children learn life skills that empower them to make safe, caring and respectful decisions in their everyday lives both online and offline. Topics include:

Safety for Independent Livingwas created to help youth and adults with developmental disabilities feel safe in all their usual places: home, work, school, online and in the community. Through games, digital media, video and colorful graphics, this comprehensive 8-10 hour safety program empowers people with tools to make confident choices and live a safe life.
The Safety for Independent Living courseaims to equip developmental youth and adults with life skills to make confident choices, to prevent potentially dangerous situations and to live a safe life. Safety for Independent Livingis a comprehensive, in-class, 8-hour safety program that covers:
