GUIDELINES FOR CLAIMING
Receipts, tickets, bills or similar appropriate papers should be obtained when making payments. A short explanation of the expenditure should be made on the expense form.
Use of Own Car for Scripture Union Travel
Volunteers who use their own cars for travel on behalf of the Movement may claim the following mileage allowances:
· First 10,000 miles up to 40p per mile
· Thereafter up to 25p per mile
Please note that these rates cover an estimate of the full cost of car travel including depreciation, servicing, and insurance. Where travel on behalf of Scripture Union represents only a small proportion of the typical use of the vehicle, or where the vehicle is used primarily for private use it may be appropriate to claim less than the maximum indicated above, but this is left to individual discretion. Typical costs for petrol only would be around 12p per mile.
Public Transport, Taxis, Air Travel
Scripture Union will reimburse the actual cost of all legitimate public transport and air travel where the cost has been incurred as part of a journey on behalf of the Movement. This will include cost of seat reservation, where necessary.
