BANK OF ND REAL DEAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Bank of ND Real Deal Scholarship opened online on Sept. 1 at The Real Deal Scholarship awards 48 scholarships to ND students. This $500 scholarship can be used for ND colleges/universities. The first 1,000 applicants who apply on Sept. 7 will receive a free t-shirt. Click on scholarships on the first screen of the BND site and then click on the Real Deal scholarship link to apply. (bnd.nd.gov/scholarship). Eight students will be drawn each month from October through March

VIVINT SMART HOME

This is a $5,000.00 scholarship for high school seniors or college students. Students must be enrolled to attend college no later than September 30, 2017. Winners will not be based on financial need. Applicants must submit a video and must be planning on or already enrolled in one of the eligible majors listed in the Scholarship Official Rules (on website). AXA Achievement Scholarship

This is a scholarship for 2017 graduating seniors and provides over $1.4 million in scholarship to young people. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business) Young Entrepreneur Awards

This senior high school scholarship is for young entrepreneurs who demonstrate entrepreneurial drive and initiative by owning/operating their own business. The NFIB scholarship awards range from $2,000 - $15,000 and was established to raise awareness of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America. Juniors – The 2016-2017 LEDA (Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America) application is now open. This is a competitive leadership program for students in their junior year from low-income backgrounds. Students must have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.6 and class ranking in the top 10% of their class. The application website is ledascholars.org/application . Elks Emergency Educational Grants

This is a one-year renewable grant of up to $4,000 for educational assistance for undergraduate students of children of deceased or totally disabled Elks members. Eligible applicants must be full-time college or university students who demonstrate financial need. To obtain an application, contact ENF Scholarship Office at 773/755-4732 or . BURGER KING

This is a senior scholarship with one-time awards of up to $1,000. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. 2017 Profile in Courage Essay Contest

This scholarship is to honor the 100th anniversary of JFK's birth. In Profiles in Courage, John F. Kennedy recounted stories of eight US senators who demonstrated political courage by risking their careers to do what is right for the nation. This essay contest challenges US high school students to write a new profile in courage. The first place award is $20,000, second place is $1,000 and there will be five $500 awards and eighteen $100 awards. The topic of the essay is to describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after the year of JFK's birth. Award winners will also win an expense-paid trip to Boston and recognition for their award. 2017 HAMILTON AWARD (juniors)

The Hamilton Award recognizes young people for their academic, personal, service, and entrepreneurial accomplishments; 35-40 students are selected annually to participate in the leadership program. Winners are high-achieving, service-focused high school juniors. Winners also receive a $500 cash scholarship to pay for college applications fees and testing fees. North Dakota Jaycee Senate Scholarship Committee

The Lisa Burdolski Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Lisa Burdolski, a Jaycee child who passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. There will be four $300 awards and two of the winners will be eligible to compete nationally for $1,000 scholarships from the US JCI Senate Foundation competition in February 2017. RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES U.S. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

WELLS FARGO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

This senior scholarship is sponsored through Scholarship America. Applicants must have an identified disability, a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be a high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll in a full-time or part-time undergraduate study/program. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2500 award for full-time study and $1250 for half-time study. Renewal of the award is possible, contingent on satisfactory academic performance with a 2.5GPA or above. Full-time students may be renewed up to three additional years and an additional seven years for part-time students.

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Monsanto Fund

The Legacy Awards scholarship program offers 250 college scholarships worth $4,000 to children and grandchildren of Elks members. ND Conservation Studies Scholarship

This is a $1,000.00 scholarship for seniors who are planning to pursue a career in conversation education. Applicants must be planning to pursue an agricultural/natural resource management/environmental or related field at a two or four year university in North Dakota. The paper application and scholarship essay of no more than 500 words on the top, "The Balance between Agriculture and Resource Conservation". Pick up an application with any counselor. FOUNDATION FOR RURAL SERVICE-College Scholarship Program-Local & National

This is a senior scholarship with local Consolidated scholarships of $2,500, four $5,000 Staurulakis Family Scholarships awarded with a preference for students who are majoring in math, science, engineering or medicine. Also, two $1,500 TMS (Telco Management Service) scholarships will be awarded to students. One $7,000 Everett Kneece Return to Rural America Scholarship will be awarded. CONSOLIDATED TELCOM SCHOLARSHIPS

This is senior scholarship with six awards given of $750.00 each. Applicants parents must be customers of Consolidated-no exceptions. Judging is based on a two page typed 2017 essay that answers the question - "What do you think the industry of telecommunications will be like in the next 10 years"? Patrick Denne Memorial Scholarship

This senior scholarship is for students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the Bismarck State College's Water and Wastewater Technology program. Applicants also qualify if they are a child or grandchild of a current city/rural water system employee or elected city/rural water system official and be a current member of ND Rural Water Systems Association. Up to $7,000 will be awarded to award recipients. Applicants must write a brief essay on the importance of the water industry. Pick up an application with any counselor. Seniors who plan to pursue an agricultural career or whose family is actively farming or ranching are eligible to apply for one of ten $1,000 scholarships. ND Notice of Apprenticeship-ND Construction Craft Laborers'

Apprentices need to be 18 years old and physically able to perform the work. Apprentices upon beginning work must become a member of and maintain membership in good standing in the Laborers International Union pursuant to the governing Collective Bargaining Agreement. Seniors - During the application process to the college/university that you want to attend, make sure that you do the online or paper applications for the freshman scholarships. Oftentimes, you can get large scholarships that are renewable to the school you are attending.

Seniors with a GPA of 2.5 who are planning to attend college are eligible to apply. There is no application or deadline with this $500 scholarship. Write a 650-800 word essay about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship

The Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship Program, sponsored by The Muhammad Ali Center, is offering scholarships inspired by Muhammad Ali’s six core principles: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality. This scholarship program encourages the pursuit of greatness through education.

The program is open to high school seniors or graduates or post-secondary students. Students outside the United States must be in their final year of upper or higher secondary school or be a current undergraduate student attending school in the United States. Students must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entire 2014-2015 academic year.

BOILERMAKERS APPRENTICESHIP

The Great Lakes Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program applications are being accepted in a number of locations. The third Tuesday of every month from 9:00AM to 11:00AM applications are being accepted at Local #647, 3400 42nd Street, NW, Mandan, ND 58554. Contact any counselor for other dates and locations in Fargo, South Dakota and Minnesota. Applicants who have a welding certification or welding training qualifications will have priority selection over applicants with no welding qualifications. NDSCS-Educating the Electrical Industry

This year our department has about $50,000 in scholarships for those interested in pursuing a career in the electrical industry. In addition, they have $10,000 in available scholarships thru STEMS. Career Power-Up with IEC

This is a four year electrical apprenticeship recognized by U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship Program and Training. You can become a journeyman electrician and earn college credits. IEC-Dakotas offers classroom and online training. This training will open the door for multiple possibilities for you in the electrical field. Stop in with any counselor for a sign-up card.

United Technologies Aerosplace Systems Tuition Sharing/Reimbursement Program

This program is open to 1st or 2nd year students that attend a 2-year accredited Machinist Training program. Students must apply for consideration to be enrolled in the UTC program. Upon completion of the program, students need to work for UTC for a minimum of three years. For more information and to pick up an application stop in with any counselor.
