WSA 1 – Northwest

  • Results.

WSA 2 – Rural MN CEP

  • Lack of people using the website.
  • No applicants.
  • The lack of recruitment results. The staff at the WorkForce Center was real nice but we just didn't get much interest from the job seekers at the WorkForce Center.
  • We use to work with Sue Wold. She was only six miles away. She retired and we don't seem to get very good results since she left. I think we have been assigned to Rochester and Red Wing. That is out of our area.

WSA 4 – Duluth

  • Anybody, most anybody that has come in from the state doesn't have the qualifications we are looking for or they really don't want to work.

WSA 6 – Southwest

  • It was a waste of time. I didn't get any applicants.
  • They are experts at sending us unqualified labor applicants. Basically they send us people that are in transition that nobody else seems to want. If they want to help employers they need to focus on middle level and senior level positions. That is where we need the help.
  • They usually go there on their own.

WSA 8 – Southeast

  • Not getting results. I have better luck using Craig's List. I followed the recommendations made by the WorkForce center representative but still didn't get any views or results.

WSA 14 – Dakota-Scott

  • Concerning the initial visit I am very dissatisfied with the services. The representative didn't seem that concerned with my issue and never followed up with us. I made several attempts via email and the representative never got back to me.

WSA 15 – Ramsey Co.

  • The help from the WorkForce Center started off strong but eventually I was pretty much on my own.

  • They are so helpful and knowledgeable.
  • They are very responsive to our needs and try new things. For example they post our jobs to Facebook in an effort to attract younger job seekers and they hosted an onsite Job Fair with nine businesses from the same industry unfortunately not one applicant applied. The effort is there but the results are not. In our industry it is just very tough to recruit nurses. We have three hospitals within a thirty mile radius and most nurses would prefer working at a hospital compared to a long term care facility.

  • Because I think they are a great asset and can help you fit people to match your job.
  • Because it is a good organization.
  • Because out here in the rural area it has been good bank for us. We post all of our jobs through your site and have been successful in filling our positions without using another tool or resource. In fact our most recent hire is moving out here from the inner city.
  • Because they have a huge applicant pool to select from and have the time to know the skills and qualifications of the job seekers.
  • Communications. They always get back to me quickly.
  • I think it is a valuable service. It just hasn't work well in our case.

  • They are easy to work with. I work with Ladeen and she is very helpful.
  • They have a vast amount of information vast is available. Denise is always very friendly and cordial. She is very personable. She always gets back to me if I have questions. I have gleaned a lot of information from the seminars I have attended. There is another one coming up and we need to wait for someone to come back from vacation before we decide who is attending.
  • To help someone else out.
  • To reach an untapped pool of talent.
  • Well you know Denise, she is so easy to work with. It is a free service and you have an abundance of resources.
  • Well, the local representatives have comprehensive knowledge of the local workforce and resources that are available and they are good at problem solving recruitment needs. Julie is awesome, awesome to work with as well as other DEED staff like Luke Greiner and Lisa Hughes. I know I can contact them and they will have the answers for me or point me in the right direction. The services are great. They are a lot of different resources to businesses.
  • Whether it would be a business or job seeker we always would refer them to the WorkForce Center because they have a lot of resources.
