The South West Peninsula Drug-related Death Review Group is holding its7th conference on Friday 23rd October 2015at the China Fleet Club, Saltash. We hope to build upon the previous 6 conferences and are also using this opportunity to explore how good communication and cooperation between agencies, and individuals, can continue to help reduce the number of substance misuse related deaths across the peninsula.
The conference is free to those attending, and open to service users, carers, service managers, drug and alcohol workers, commissioners, Police, Coroners and their officers, and we are keen to encourage a good mix of workers from all disciplines.
Theplenary sessions will look at Pain Management, reducing the incidence of Hepatitis C,Adfam’s report on parental substance misuse one year on, supporting those who have been bereaved by substance misuse and alcohol care pathways for entrenched alcohol use.
Attendees will be offered2 workshop sessions (details overleaf) givingparticipants the opportunity to discuss and consider solutions to the challenges that arise in relation to reducing harm and promoting recovery both for those who use substance misuse services and the services that work to support them.
There is a limit of 150 places, and all our previous conferences have been over-subscribed. 40 places have been allocated for service users – 10 from each peninsula area.
