Rotary Club of Upper Kittitas County
2014 Scholarship Program
The Rotary Club of Upper Kittitas County is accepting applications for its 2014 Scholarship Program. Scholarships are made available through the generosity of others in our community by way of Rotary’s fund raisers, golf tournaments, and by community donations.
All Upper Kittitas County students are eligible and encouraged to apply. We are looking for students who will be attending a vocational, trade, 2-year, or 4-year program. We ask that you be on track to receive a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D.)
Applicants must complete Application Form and include all of the required items with their submission; transcript, service activities, extracurricular activities, future plans, objective(s) and goals, and essay. All work submitted must be applicants own work.
Applicants must attend a UKC Rotary Club meeting during January, February, or March. Meetings are Wednesday, 7:00 AM, at Portals Restaurant, The Lodge at Suncadia. At the meeting, you will be asked to provide the Club a brief spoken overview of who you are, what you have been doing, and what your plans, objectives, and goals are for the future. Also, speak to what service work (formal and/or informal) you have been a part of for the past three years. (Please contact us if you are unable to attend or need assistance with transportation.)
Rotary will review all complete applications, submitted with a postmark date no later than March 15, 2014, and make recommendations for awards. In years past, Rotary has looked closely at applicant’s academic performance, extracurricular participation and service work, ambition, determination and embodiment of high ethical standards, commitment to and involvement in service and community, strength of application, essay, letter of recommendation, and spoken presentation at Club meeting
