Title:PRAY, SEEK GOD
Scripture Text: Psalm 27:4-13
INTRODUCTION
As we all know, this is the year of seeking the Lord. The Psalmist said that “one thing I desire….” Everyone has a desire to acquire something thing or a goal. Your desire is where you start from and when you acquire it means you have arrived or achieved your goal. Between what you desire and acquire, there are certain things that need to fall into place.
Point of discussion
Desire- if you are going to seek God, you must have a desire. God has put a desire inside each of us. When we pray, God helps us to align our desire with His will- Genesis 25:21-22
Inquire of the Lord- we have to search out, seek out and ask questions to discover why the situation is the way it is-1 Corinthians 3:16, Psalm 27:8-9
Require a response/answer -Seek God’s face – Psalm 27:13- what is God saying about your life, your situation? Seek God’s face diligently –Mark11:24
Acquire- you receive what you are believing God for according to His will
Things you need to know
When you find the will of God for your life, your life becomes pleasant.
Sometimes even though your prayer is answered and you receive your miracle, there may still be a struggle
You have to inquire in the right place, in the temple of God (you are the temple, seek God to hear that voice)
You have an anointing and unction of God- the Holy Spirit dwells in you
The God who blesses you is not too small to be blessed
It is what God chooses for you that matters
Things you need to do
When we struggle, ask questions. Why is this happening?
Learn to ask and inquire. Ask God, ask people.
Count the cost before you do something and inquire of the Lord
Love God for God’s sake, not because of man. God sees in the secret and blesses in the open
When you find what you are seeking, take it and run with it. Make your life count.
Ask according to the will of God
CONCLUSION
We know that God answers us when we pray. When we seek God as we have been doing this month, we will receive what we ask for. As we seek the face of God, we will see a change in our situation. We have to do what God has placed us in the earth to do- to be the light and the salt of the earth. We must believe that this year, we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
