Job Title / Regional QSNL Division 2 Head Coach
Job Type / Contract – the appointment is for 12 months, reliant on the appointmented individual successfully meeting requirements as per contract. With the possibility of extension for a further 1 year.
Remuneration / $1500 TBC
Reports to: / Whitsunday Regional Committee & NQ

Time Commitment: / 2 x2hr weekly training sessions plus weekly fixtures plus clinics as required by Region
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Purpose
The primary purpose of the role is to develop, manage and deliver a program that facilitates excellence and success in team and individual performance for the Souths Whitsunday Sharks Division 2 team in preparation for the QSNL Competition in 2017.
Key Selection Criteria:
  • Qualifications: NCAS Advanced Coaching Accreditation or proof of workingtowards Advanced Accreditation in 2017
  • Current Netball Qldmembership
  • A current ‘Working With Children Positive Notice’ BlueCard
  • Proven coaching record and relevant experience – previous experience in coaching in an elite or emerging eliteenvironment
  • Suitability in terms of behaviour, ethics, attitudesetc.
  • Preparedness to adhere to Netball Queensland’s Rules, Policies, andGuidelines
Knowledge/Skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of skills and strategies at a level commensurate with elite representativeteams
  • Willingness and ability to continue to develop elite coachingpractices
  • Ability to take direction from superiors, and implement changes based onfeedback
  • Strong communication and interpersonalskills
  • Greatenthusiasm

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Required to attend, where practicable, 2 training sessions per week plus all competition matches set by NetballQld.
  • Develop a training program to prepare the Team for competition. This includes on court success and talentdevelopment.
  • Comply with set programdates.
  • Be responsible for the players while training andplaying.
  • In collaboration with the Whitsunday Regional committee assume the role of selection of players for each game during the QSNL season. Liaison with team medical staff regarding injuries and alterations to theteam.
  • Coach at all times in a responsible and professional manner and abide by the Coaches Code of Conduct.
  • At all times keep confidential information pertaining toathletes.
  • Ensure Team dynamics are strong and sustainable, including the playing group, and other related specialists and the coachingpanel.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to Assistant Coach and liaise with other support staff asrequired.
  • In consultation with the Region, establish guidelines and responsibilities that will allow you to maximise your developmentopportunities.
  • Be involved with Junior Development Clinics within the Whitsunday Region.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Division Two Head Coach – will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide mentoring and development to Regional Assistant and ApprenticeCoaches;
  • Fulfill the roles and responsibilities of a Whitsunday RegionalSelector
  • Liaise with relevant Selectors and Netball Queensland regarding injured athletes and / or alterations to the squad or team leading into the QSNLselections;
  • Develop and deliver a high performance periodisationcalendar;
  • Develop, promote, monitor and review a positive culture inclusive of behavioural standards within the QNSL team ensuring standards are maintained by coaches, staff andathletes;
  • Manageanddeliverahighperformancedailytrainingenvironmentto QSNLathletesasateam and asindividuals;
  • Conduct all training and program requirements for the Whitsunday Regional QSNL team in line with Netball Queensland’s daily training environment levels andstandards;
  • Attend high performance coaching whereavailable;
  • Establish and manage a program of review and analysis of team and individual specifics for the QSNL team and opposition teams and ensure this information is relayed to athletes as required to achieve individual and teamsuccess;
  • Manage and supervise athletes, coaches and support staff within the QSNL team ensuring high performancebehavioursandadherencetorelevantpolicies,processesandprotocols;
  • Ensure highly effective communication with the appropriate support staff & Regional Committee in relation to the management of player injury andrehabilitation
  • Participate in all relevant QSNL events, meetings, reviews, panelsandengagements;
  • Promote QSNL through involvement in any media, promotional, sponsor servicing or speaking arrangements that Netball Queensland or Whitsunday Region may arrange from time totime;
  • Perform all other duties as are reasonably required by Whitsunday Region.

Written Reports: A written report is required mid season and at the conclusion of the QSNL competition. These are to be submitted to the Whitsunday Regional Committee as per details contained within the Coach Contract.
