Instruction
- Continue reviewing and implementing strategies focusing on Common Core Learning Standards (ELA) and close reading strategies
- Review and implement research and technology strategies based on the Common Core Learning Standards and prepare for computerized testing
- Promote a love of reading and the family literacy component
- Use faculty meetings/extended hours to support learning about the Common Core Learning Standards and close reading strategies
- Organize literacy workshops focusing on research-based strategies based on Common Core Learning Standards and close reading strategies
- Continue implementing CFA strategies at all grade levels
- Create and implement lessons based on the Common Core Learning Standards using technology resources and prepare for computerized testing
- Implement the summer reading program (Soar into a Book) and an assembly in September
- Implement the Bedtime and Books program
- Implement the PARP program (Parents As Reading Partners) and promote PTO activities that encourage literacy initiatives
- Encourage literacy strategies through CourtStreetSchool’s Literacy Committee website
