Monday – Whole Group
Unit 2 Week 5 – Mystic Horse
-Have students buddy read “History at Your Feet” with their partner. (high/low)
-They will predict the meaning of the new vocabulary words using context clues and record them in their reading journal (students will check their predictions in the vocabulary station on Tuesday)
-Teacher will then go over the vocabulary with the class using the define, sentence, question method.
-Class will read “Mystic Horse” aloud using the read aloud feature from Treasures online completing comprehension questions and page 85.
Tuesday – Thursday

Read to Self / Complete worksheet / Draw a picture summarizing the book. / Creation from the book
Vocabulary / SmartBoard activity using spelling city / Page 82 & 83 / Free Rice
Work on Writing / Students will complete their published copy of How To essays.
Computers / 4th grade students will sign into their ConnectEd website and do the assigned comprehension activity. Each day will have a different activity for them to do. Progress is submitted to the teacher. 5th grade will do Study Island.
Guided Reading / Teachers will work with small groups based on reading level. They will use A-Z materials and literacy library materials.
Friday – Whole Group
-Students will take assessment on Mystic Horse and reading skills covered this week. Once the students have completed their assessment, they will complete an assignment on Study Island and finish incomplete work from stations.
Differentiation
-Groups are based on student abilities.
-Treasure materials and reading a-z can be provided for each level as needed (approaching, on level, and beyond)
