The «Discovery Scholarship: Art Market and Conviviality in Paris»
Institut d’Etudes Supérieures des Arts, IESA, offers two scholarships to students in Hong Kong and Macao. The courses and excursion are from 27th, June to 22rd, July, 2011.
Worth 2350€ /each student, each scholarship includes:
-French learning courses ranging from beginners’ to intermediate levels in IESA
-Classroom courses and courses in museums, galleries and streets of Paris.
-Excursion outside Paris to discover the richness of European heritage (Versailles and Brussels).
The scholarship does NOT include:
- International airfare between Hong Kong/Macao and France
- Accommodation. However, IESA has made arrangements with various halls of residence so as to provide the most convenient and comfortable accommodation for the students.
The scholarships provide opportunity to students to take the program "Art in Paris" of IESA. Students can choose two on five complementary studies offered, which can be taken together for credit or separately for their own pleasure. The French Option (French Beginner or French Intermediate) is mandatory for students under the “Discover Scholarship”. Photography and Plein Air painting are practical courses with some art history; the art market programmes allow students to study the fine and decorative arts in the museums and galleries of Paris, within the context of the Parisian art market.
The program "Art in Paris" is a part of IESA new Summer Session, a “European Grand Tour” created in partnership with Jacksonville University (USA). Students can spend the summer Europe’s most exciting art centers (Florence in June, Paris in July and London in the early of August) by choosing all destinations or only one programme for a month of intensive study, like proposed in the scholarship.
Spend the summer touring Europe and its fantastic artistic heritage.
