BID SOLICITATION

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Education, Community Unit School District 200 on, Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. prevailing time for the 2016 Facility Improvements: Whittier Elementary School project. Lump sum bid proposals for this project will be received, publicly opened, and read aloud at that time .

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 3:45pm at School Services Center, 130 W. Park Avenue, Wheaton Illinois 60189. All Bidders are encouraged to attend and sign in at the meeting which will be attended by the Owner and Architect.

Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cash, an amount equal to 10 percent of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Bid security shall be payable to the Board of Education Community Unit School District 200.

Bids shall be submitted on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: Mr. John Robinson III, Director of Facility Operations, Community Unit School District 200, 130 W. Park Avenue, Wheaton, Illinois 60189. All Bids shall be delivered to the same address. Bid opening will be immediately following at the same address.

The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of Community Unit School District 200.

All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidder must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws.

Contractors may obtain 1 set of bid documents in pdf-compatible digital form at no cost, excluding shipping costs, via either internet download or compact disk and 1 set of Hard Copy Bid Forms. One set of bidding documents consists of 1 set of drawings, 1 Project Manual, and 1 set of bid forms.
