VOLUNTEER TOE NAIL CUTTING(CLINIC) ROLE DESCRIPTION

Role: / Foot Care Volunteer Toe nail Cutting / Clinic Setting
Reporting to: (staff member) / Project Co-ordinator
Brief overview of the
position: / To support a staff member at various foot care clinics and home visits with nail cutting and paperwork, etc.
Brief overview of the role: / The role involves:
·  Helping to set up at clinics and meet and greet clients
·  Nail cutting
·  Helping to complete the relevant foot care paperwork and updating any information given
·  Helping to document interactions on the foot care database along with any other info collected (eg change of address)
·  Helping to re-book appointments and complete the banking sheet.
·  Supporting staff with telephone calls and completing the phone log
·  Helping staff to maintain relevant stock levels
·  Help staff to clear up
The role requires you: / ·  To complete the nail cutting training with our supervising NHS podiatrist (full day training)
·  To take part in Age UK Lancashire Volunteer Induction training
·  To undertake training in: Manual Handling, First Aid, Safeguarding Adults & Equality & Diversity, all provided by Age UK
·  To participate in gatherings for the support and benefit of volunteers
·  To report any concerns to the Project Co-ordinator
·  To adhere to Age UK policies and procedures, such as Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities.
Summary of key
attributes & qualifications
for role: / ·  Basic English skills
·  A qualification in pedicure or equivalent
·  Computer literate preferable but not essential
·  A friendly and cheerful manner
·  Understanding the need for confidentiality
·  Reliability
·  Requirement to undertake induction training, work to guidelines and policies on Health & Safety, confidentiality, equal opportunities, etc.
Time Commitment: / One day = Tuesday – Thursday 9.30 – 4.30pm (may vary)
