Job Title: Benefits Strategy and Planning Manager
The Benefits Strategy and Planning Manager is responsible for leading and developing the mid-to long-term strategic plan for enterprise level benefits which support the Benefits strategy and objectives, while delivering on the team member value proposition. This position will ensure the strategies are aligned to current trends, practices, regulations, and overall costs across the benefits programs.
The individual will be responsible in formulating the mid-to longer term strategy and planning requirements to ensure our Corporate Benefits philosophy and guiding principles are supported. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with forward-looking strategic and problem solving skills, knowledgeable about the health, well-being and retirement industries, as well as the evolving changes in the external market place on both the competitive landscape and regulatory environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead and influence across the Enterprise, within the benefits function and other key stakeholders. This individual will have demonstrated results in leading a business in a major corporation.
This individual will effectively partner closely with key leaders in Corporate Benefits, HR, and other cross-functional teams with the enterprise to ensure the strategy and plans meet our HR strategic priorities and Compensation and Benefits goals. Primary Responsibilities:
· Lead the assessment and development of enterprise level benefits strategy and planning processes, practices and programs that support strategic business initiatives and internal and external governance requirements.
· Lead research and design efforts to develop innovative and leading benefits programs and strategy that meet the multi-year benefits plan.
· Analyze existing benefit plan designs, external regulatory and market trends and prevailing competitive practices to ensure strategic alignment with benefits objectives.
· Manage, coach and develop project team to deliver on the plans.
· Establish and maintain relationships with peers, managers, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure business goals are being met; manages resource for ongoing project work; and oversees efforts across multiple functions/groups.

Basic Qualifications
· 10+ years benefits or related experience with 5+ years management experience.
Minimum Qualifications
· In-depth knowledge about benefits practices, experience with benefits design and decisions, and large-scale project management and implementation.
· Demonstrated success leading and delivering strategic plans and programs in large, complex organizations.
· Excellent leadership skills; proven ability to positively influence and direct diverse teams, and quickly gain the trust and confidence of key partners and executive leaders.
· Demonstrated strategic thinking expertise. Must possess strategic forward thinking capabilities and the ability to engage Stakeholder Partners and leaders to deliver actionable results, to advance toward that vision.
· Proven experience in managing comprehensive, complex and high visibility benefits strategies and initiatives, and demonstrated ability to manage broad project plans.
· Able to develop and deliver compelling enterprise programs while addressing varying needs and changes in the function.
Preferred Qualifications
· 10+ years of general management or consulting experience in benefits planning and design of plans for large, complex and diversified employers.· 5+ years of managing and leading a benefits function.
· In-depth knowledge of financial services industry, including an excellent understanding of the strategic role and impact of Benefits.
· In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Affordable Care Act and the Pension Protection Act.
· Knowledge of technology necessary to provide innovative benefits solutions.
· Strong understanding of the strategies, market position, and economics/risk profile of Wells Fargo’s businesses and how to design benefits to meet their needs.
· MBA or advanced degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or Human Resources
· Expertise in benefits plan development and best practices.
