2016 MINI-GRANT PROGRAM

The Mini-Grant Program provides grants of up to $1,000.00 to eligible organizations for projects that address the Foundation’s granting priorities. For 2016 the mini-grants program, is prioritizing their grants around the Centre Wellington Vital Signs 2015 report. This report was delivered to all households in Centre Wellington by the Wellington Advertiser in October 2015. Please review the Vital Signs Report to ensure your application can better our Community in one of the three areas addressed in the Vital signs report.

GRANTING AREAS

Mini-Grants for 2016should support projects that better our communityin the following areas covered in the 2015 Centre Wellington Vital Signs Report:

The gap between Rich and Poor

Belonging and Leadership

Arts & Culture

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order to be eligible for a grant, an organization must:

Be registered as a charity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

orPartner with an organization with charitable status or with the municipality (Note that if you are submitting an application in partnership with another such organization; section 1 must be filled out completely in order to be eligible.)

Provide local or regional services within the Township ofCentre Wellington.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

All applications must be received by the Foundation by noon on the application deadline.

MINI-GRANT ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

All proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:

Does the project foster one of the granting priority areas of the CWCF?

Does the project assist with the development and implementation of tools and resources that would contribute to the applicant’s success?

Is the community or organization strengthened through the project?

Is there an identified project need?

Were appropriate methods used to identify the need?

Does the applicant have the capability to undertake the project?

Does the project demonstrate an innovative or creative approach to address the need?

How appropriate is the project evaluation?

If applicable, is the project sustainable?

Is the project duplicating an existing program or service?

WHAT THE CENTRE WELLINGTON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION MINI-GRANT PROGRAM DOES NOT FUND

Grants are not available for:

Core operating costs or capital building campaigns [we will fund equipment associated with a capital campaign]

Facility repairs

Operating or capital deficits

Activities of religious organizations that primarily serve their membership and/or their direct religious purposes. We can grant to religious organizations provided the project meets one of the granting areas.

Endowment funds

Retroactive funding for any project expenses incurred prior to the Foundation’s decision date

Annual fundraising drives for operating support

Individuals

Political activity as defined by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency’s publication on registering a charity

Programs and services outside of Centre Wellington
