Dear DeMille Kindergarten Families,
In an effort to alleviate some of the parking and traffic concerns at dismissal, we are going to implement new Kindergarten dismissal procedures beginning Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.
We will be doing hand to hand dismissal or hand to car dismissal. Kindergarten students who are meeting their grownups to walk home or be escorted to a legally parked car will be dismissed through the Kindergarten gate on the north side of campus. Grownups, please wait on the grassy area in front of the school near the Kindergarten gate.
All students who are riding home in a car will wait to be picked upon the grassy area behind the gate near the office. Parents will line up in their cars in the pick up/drop off lane on the right hand side. There is no pick up or drop off in the passing lane. Parents are asked to remain in their vehicles until they reach the front of school. The teacher on duty will escort the student from the gate to the car. There will be no walk up dismissals from this gate. If you are picking up students at multiple dismissal times, please park your car and wait for your students on the grassy area. You may not wait in the pickup line. You will be asked to move your car and park or get back in line. We want to keep the traffic moving.
There is NO PARKING in the bus zone, pick up line, or passing lane. Please park in a designated parking spot. There is also No Parking along the side walk in front of the school from McFadden to just north of the parking lot near the primary playground. Traffic citations are issued.
For your safety and the safety of your child, please remember to ALWAYS use the sidewalks and the crosswalk. We will continue to discourage you from walking through and across the parking lot.
Please speak with your children about these new procedures and let them know whether or not you will be walking up to pick them up or picking them up in a car so that we can be sure they are waiting for you in the appropriate dismissal area. Please complete the form below and return it to school by Friday, Sept. 29.
