This application form must be completed and mailed by the applicant, with supporting materials, to the Route 40 Business Association, P. O. 1203, Abingdon, MD 21009, Attention: Scholarship Committee.
The application must be postmarked no later than April 10, 2014. To be eligible, the applicant must meet the guidelines as outlined on the back of this page. This scholarship will be awarded only to students pursuing a degree or certificate in a business-related field.

Supporting Material Required:
1. Include a typed letter with the following information:
a. When you applied and the status of your application to the college
b. High School and community activities in which you have been involved and your personal contributions to those activities
c. Awards and recognitions you have received
d. Place of employment and work-related achievements
e. Your career and educational goals
f. Reasons you deem yourself worthy and in need of this scholarship
2. Transcript of high school credits up to and including the current semester.
3. Only two (2) letters of recommendation from people who have known you for at least one year and who are not related to you. One of these letters must be from a teacher.

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
Route 40 Business Association Business Scholarship 2014
The Route 40 Business Association will award one or two One Thousand Dollar ($1,000.00) scholarships to high school seniors who attend one of the following four Harford County High Schools:
Joppatowne High School Aberdeen High School
Edgewood High School Havre de Grace High School
This scholarship will be awarded only to students pursuing a degree or certificate in a
business-related field.
General criteria for applicants:
1. Must be a Harford County resident who will enroll at college next Fall as a full-time student
(12 credits) pursuing a higher education degree or certificate in a business-related field;
2. Currently completing the senior year in one of the above mentioned high schools;
3. Minimum grade point average of 3.0;
4. Must apply funds toward fees, books, tuition. The check will be made payable to the recipient and the college;
5. Complete Route 40 Business Association Scholarship Application;
6. Interview may be required;
7. Application and supporting materials must be postmarked no later than April 10, 2014. Mail to Route 40 Business Association, P. O. Box 1203, Abingdon, MD 21009, Attn: Scholarship Committee;
8. Scholarship recipient will be notified by mail before April 22, 2014;
9. Acceptance or refusal by recipient required by April 29, 2014;
10. Check will be presented at the Route 40 Business Association luncheon on May 14, 2014.
