“GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY – THE ART OF PROPAGATION”
Union County Extension will host the third of its series of seminars to help you be a better gardener. This seminar will be on the ART OF PROPAGATION and presented byUnion County Master Gardener,Sandy Yakob. Sandy is also a member of the Piedmont Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, the Southeastern Horticultural Society and a certified North Carolina Beekeeper. Sandy will provide basic information needed to start propagating. Topics that will be covered include: methods of propagation; basic hybridization techniques and best practices and techniques for successful propagation. The seminar will include a demonstration of methods and a door prize. The class will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the UnionCountyAgriculturalCenter, 3230-D Presson Road, Monroe, NC. The cost of the class is $10. Directions to workshop
From western UnionCounty - Take Highway 74 East through Monroe. After you pass Carolinas Medical Center-Union you will see Hilltop Restaurant on your right – continue on Highway 74 East towards Wingate. Go 2.7 miles past Hilltop Restaurant – start looking for Brooks Sales (a tractor dealership) on your right. Turn into their driveway – this will be Presson Road. Bear immediately to the left. Take the next right to the Ag Center.
From Eastern UnionCounty - Take Highway 74 West. Travel throughMarshville and Wingate. In Wingate there will be a stop light at McDonalds. Travel through this stoplight and the next one. Travel approximately 2 miles. Turn left at Brooks Sales (a tractor dealership).Turn into their driveway – this will be Presson Road. Bear immediately to the left. Take the next right to the Ag Center.
