Music Generation Sligo wishes to support the development of Instrument Banks in partnership with local schools, youth, community and music organisations in Sligo.

Organisations eligible to apply to this scheme are

* Sligo schools or non-professional performing youth groups or ensemble s(u18)

* Sligo-based not-for-profit organisations seeking to buy instruments for non-professional music making and learning in any genre for young people under the age of 18

You must be in a position to fund 50% of instrument costs in 2016.

Music Generation Sligo will purchase instruments in accordance with Mayo Sligo Leitrim ETB Procurement Procedures. Please note deliveries may take up to 3 or more months, depending on the instrument. Specialist instruments may take longer. Music Generation Sligo will inform you of the cost before ordering and invoicing you. Instruments can be collected from Music Generation Sligo at an agreed time and location.

SECTION 4 - CONDITIONS OF AWARD

4.1 If your application is successful, the Music Generation Sligo Instrument Bank 50/50 Scheme will provide 50% of the cost of the proposed instruments. Music Generation Sligo will purchase the instruments on your behalf. By signing this form, you agree to pay 50% to Music Generation Sligo before November 25th 2016.

4.2 Music Generation Sligo may request data from you on in the future to measure the impact of our support in helping to create these new Instrument Banks in County Sligo.

4.3 Music Generation Sligo should be acknowledged as co-funder of the instrument banks in any print & publicity. ‘Your Organisation Name’ & Music Generation Sligo Instrument Bank.

Helping children and young people access music education

in their own communities

Music Generation Sligodelivers a range of long-termmusic education programmes for children and young people as part of a national Music Generation programmeinitiatedby Music Network, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, The Department of Education & Skills and Sligo Music Education Partnership. Music Generation Sligo is managed and funded locally by Mayo Sligo Leitrim ETB, Sligo County Council, Sligo Education Centre, Sligo County Childcare Committee, Cranmore Regeneration and the local music sector. Since 2011, Music Generation Sligo has worked to address access to instrumental vocal tuition and performance by children and young people in their own communities.

Music Generation Sligo currently reaches over 2,500 children and young people annually through arange of programmes including Discovering & Performing Music access programmes in early year, primary, post primary schools and youth settings; Instrumental & Vocal Tuition in Regional Tuition Centres inEaskey, Gurteen, Ballymote, Grange & Sligo town; Performance & Composition Programmes offering opportunities for ambitious live performance; Summer Camps & Masterclasses; Special Educational Needs programmes; subsidised tickets to professional music events in Sligoand access to Instrument Banks throughout the county.
