Inner East Girls Cricket is an “allgirls”cricket competition that is run on behalf of the Eastern Cricket Association and Box Hill Reporter DistrictCricket Association in the Eastern Region of Metropolitan Melbourne. We are the prominent “all girls”competition inVictoria. With recent expressions of interest we will likelyhave 40 teams this season.Our size allows us to offer 3 stages of cricket to cater for girls progressing from Milo In2 Cricket and T20 Blast intowomen’scricket and provides us with a unique position in the market. The participation pathway is clear and structured, we make sure thetransitionis smooth by utilizing the Cricket Australia Formats.
Emphasis of our competition is on participation, learning the game, developing skills and, most importantly, having fun, whilst also providing a pathway for representative cricketers. We make sure that girls love cricket andwill keepreturningto play, be they social cricketers or competitive representative cricketers.

Grounds:
It is proposed that we will have more home and away games this season. Teams will get home games if they are playing a club that is located close to them. We will retain Elgar Park and Hislop Park for neutral venues when playing teams that are not in proximity to you. Home teams will be responsible for setting up the grounds and providing equipment for the matches.
Fees and Girls Memberships:
Affiliation fees will remain the same,thatis $50 per team, to help offset the costs of the neutral grounds.
We are making it compulsory for clubs to charge their players, this should be a maximum of $100 and a minimum of $75 to compete which should include a shirt and hat.
Balls:
Balls to be used will be sold to clubs from IEGC, the balls this year will have our logo and will be Kookaburra Balls.
Stage 1 synthetic 130gm
Stage 2 142g pink leather ball
Stage 3 142g pink leather ball.
Reporting Results into MyCricket:
It is compulsory for all games and players to be entered into MyCricket this season. Non compliance will incur fines. A compulsory meeting at the start of season will be held to educate managers and parents on how to enter and understand system.
The clubs junior coordinator or nominated person shall be responsible for the input of team selections and match details to the Mycricket website for all the teams in that club. Both teams will be responsible for scores to be submitted to the Mycricket website. The team managers of each team shall lodge with the Mycricket website, no later than 9pm on the Friday following the conclusion of Home and Away matches, a selected team, match result, player scores, Player scores (opposition dismissals) and in the case of the team reporting second, a confirmation of match result.
Match Points:
Girl’s competition points shall be recorded as follows:
Win 6 points
Abandon, tie or drawn match 3 points
Bye, Walkover or forfeit 6 points
Loss 0 points
First Aid:
Each home team shall provide an efficient first aid kit and ice.
Uniforms:
All players in any side shall wear the same coloured uniform. Head gear shall be white or club coloured cap or hat. Shorts or pants are allowed.
Playing Times:
Matches are played Wed evenings at 5pm and concluding on the completion of 20 over’s of the Innings of Team B. A 10 min interval is allowed between innings.
Team managers should endeavour to have the match concluded by 7pm.
If play has not commenced by 5.30pm then play shall be abandoned for the day.
Only one official from each team is allowed to be on the field at any time during play.
We will not have official umpires, teams must supply their own umpire.
There will be no 2 day games.
Heat Policy:
The heat policy is applied for player safety and the rules are non-discretionary. These rules are not to be ignored or varied by agreement or unilateral decision by team managers or umpires. Where heat is an issue, temperatures are to be monitored by team managers. Umpires are to be advised immediately when the critical temperatures shown below are reached and play is to stop.
Temperatures are to be obtained from Weather Bureau telephone 1196 or web address c.bom.gov.au/vic/Melbourne. The executive committee, at its discretion, may declare play abandoned for the day, where forecasts predict adverse weather conditions.
No scheduled match will commence if the temperature has reached 36 degrees Celsius by 2pm. If play has started and temp reaches 36 degrees during play, play may be delayed for a maximum of 30 mins. If play does not commence or resume, play is to be abandoned for the evening.
Lightning Policy:
In the event of an active thunderstorm or electrical storm in the immediate vicinity of the ground, play is to cease immediately and all players and umpires are to find safe shelter without delay. (Safe shelter includes cars or large substantial buildings with electric or telephone wiring/or plumbing that provides a safe current to the ground. players should not remain in open areas or take refuge beneath trees).
Play should resume less than 30 mins after the last lightning strike. Provisions of this rule are non-discretionary and may not be ignored or varied by agreement or unilateral decision by team managers or umpires.
Code of Conduct:
Each club needs to provide a code of conduct to both players and parents. We have strong standards to maintain, any complaints at games will be heard by our Dispute Committee,that will be two members of our Committee, Tom Anderson and Paul Devine.
Coach accreditation:
Each team needs to have a certified Level 1 coaching accreditation. Courses run by Cricket Victoria will be available before the season starts and are free.
Working with Children’s Checks:
All clubs are responsible for keeping a register of “Working with Children” Checks. Anyone involved with a team, even if a parent, must have a current “working with children” card.
You need to send a copy of your register to Sharon.
Inner East Girls Cricket Super 7 Stage 1 Junior Format Cricket Guidelines
This format is designed for children who have completed the Milo T20 Blast Program and/or Milo In2 Cricket Program.
Coach: An accredited Community (Level 1) Coach should be present.
Ball: Only Kookaburra 130 g softballs are to be used.
Time: Maximum 2 hours (120 mins) playing time. I.e.Team 1 bats for 60 mins /Team 2 bats for 60 mins.
Innings: Maximum 20 overs (120 balls) or 60 mins batting time per team.
Boundary: The ground should be marked at a maximum 40 m diameter around the pitch(measured from the batters stumps)
Protective Equipment: Helmet (including the wicket keeper), batting pads, gloves and protector.
Team: 7 Players /Team, however the game works equally well for up to 9 players with fielding rotations & a game can commence with 5 Players/Team.
Pitch: Players play on 16m pitch.
Batting:
- All batters must retire after 17 balls have been received (based on 7 Players/Team
- If an extra ball is required (ie 7x17=119), the striker at the time will face the 120th ball.
- All balls regardless of wides/no balls are included in the batters 17 ball count
Bowling:
- Maximum 6 balls per over which includes wides and no balls
- All players including wicket keeper are to bowl
- No player bowling more than 4 overs, e.g. 3 Players x 4 overs, 2 Players x 3 overs, 2 Players x1 over.
- Bowlers are to bowl from one end for the entire innings. Change of Innings=Change of End.
Fielding:
- No fielder within 15m of batter or each other(except wicket keeper), to encourage singles and safety.
- A rotation of fielders is recommended to ensure players experience all positions
- Each team is required to use 2 wicket Keepers (10 overs each).
- If more than 7 players are present, they should rotate on/off field each over I.e. Maximum 7 players on the field at once.
Dismissals:
- Unlimited dismissals until the full quota of 17 balls is faced. 4 runs per wicket is to be added to the opposition (bowling teams) total at the end of innings.
Maximum Players:
- 5 Players/Team- 5 players bowl 4 overs7 batters retire at 24 balls
- 6 Player/Team-2 Players bowl 4 overs, 4 players bowl 3 overs &batters retire at 20 balls
- 7 Players/Team-3 players bowl 4 overs, 21 players bowl 3 overs, 2 players biowl 1 over and batters retire at 17 balls.
- 8 Players/Team-6 players bowl 3 overs, 2 players bowl 1 over & batters retire at 15 balls
- 9 Players/Team- 4 Players bowl 3 overs, 3 Players bowl 2 overs, 2 Players bowl 1 overs& batters retire at 13 balls.
Equipment:
- Two sets of portable stumps (with base and bails)
- Measuring tape or string to measure Pitch Length and Boundary
- Boundary markers , cones
- Chalk, tape or paint (water based) to mark crease.
Inner East Girls Cricket “Fast Nine” Stage 2 Junior Format Cricket Guidelines
Coach: An Accredited Community (Level 1) Coach should be present.
Ball: Only Kookaburra 142g Pink leather ball to be used.
Time: maximum 2 hours (120 mins). i.e. Team 1 bats for 60 mins/ Team 2 bats for 60 mins.
Innings: Maximum 20 overs (120 balls) or 60 mins batting time per team.
Boundary: 45m (maximum)- measured from the middle of the wicket.
Pitch : 18 m length.
Protective Equipment: Helmet (including the wicket keeper), battingpads, gloves and protector.
Team: 9 Players per team, however the game works equally well for up to 11 players with fielding rotations & a game can commence with 7players/Team.
Batting:
- All batters retire at 20 balls (with the assumption that some players will be dismissed).
- Any retired batters can return when all others have batted, in the order they retired.
- All balls (regardless of whether wides or no balls) will be included in the batters ball count.
- The innings is deemed closed after 8 wickets have fallen.- innings is closed after 8 wickets are lost.
Bowling:
- Maximum 6 balls per over
- All players are to bowl (each wicket keeper is to bowl one over each).
e.g. 3 players x 4 overs, 2 players x 3 overs, 2 players x 1 over.
- Coaches are encouraged to rotate the opportunity for players to bowl 4 overs in a match.
- Bowlers change ends at 10 overs.
Fielding:
- No fielders within within 10 m of batter or each other ( except regulation wicket keeper, slips and gully).
- A roation of fielders is recommended to ensure all players experience all positions.
- Each team is required to use 2 wicket keepers (10 oversEach).
- If more than 9 playrs are present, they should rotate on/off field each over. i.e. Maximum 9 players on the fiels at once.
Dismissals:
- All modes of dismissal count.
Min/ Max player:
- 7 Player/Team-3 playersx 4 overs, 2 playersx 3 overs. 2 players x 1 over. Batting retirement 20 balls.
- 8 Players/Team-6 players x 3 overs, 2 players x 1 over. Batting retirement 20 balls.
- 9 Players/ Team- 4 players x 3 overs, 3 players x 2 overs, 2 players x 1 over. Batting retirement 20 balls.
Equipment:
- 2 sets of portable stumps
- Measuring tape or string to measure pitchlength and boundary.
- Boundary markers or cones.

Season Launch
Sunday 15th October 9am at Box Hill City Oval .
Morning will have activities for the girls with Melbourne Stars players and our regions Premier Team Box Hill and hopefully including a breakfast.
Sport for All Workshop 9am-11am
Milo Training Session 9am-11am
After 11 stay to watch the first home match for Box Hill Women’s First team.
If the ground does not come up alright by the 15th this whole day will be moved to Schram’sReserve , Doncaster.
