3.  Division structure

  1. Division 1-4: 10 teams, Division 5: 9 teams. Placement of new teams in higher divisions was discussed but the majority of the membership preferred not to make exceptions. In addition according to league rules, a change to the MMSL rules and regulations requires that proposals be sent with the call for the meeting, then discussed at the meeting. It was suggested that a rule change be submitted in time to be heard at the AGM in January. Subsequent to the meeting, I contacted Forest City B and German Canadians C as we should have given them the option to remain in Division 5 and not fill the Division 4 vacancies per the new rule we enacted prior to the outdoor season. Forest City B opted to remain in the 5th division. The first team with the option to be promoted from Division 4 to Division 5 was Croatia B. They accepted the promotion.

4.  Schedule

  1. Start times. I discussed our preference for no earlier than 6:30 and no later than 10:30 starts with facility management. We settled on the following 24 start times:

Field 1 6:30-10:30

Field 2 7:00-10:00

Field 3 6:45-10:45

Field 4 6:45-10:45

Field 5 8:30-10:30

Field 6 9:00-10:00

It was agreed that the schedule would revert to the 2015-16 format where each division played consecutively to the extent possible.

  1. Game Dates

Division 5 will have a 16 game schedule with 2 bye weeks. I will discuss the option of adding a practice hour for each 5 division team with facility management.
