Chamber Announces 2016 Small Business of the Year Awards Finalists

July 12, 2016 (Newnan, GA) –The Newnan-Coweta Chamber has named its Top 10 Finalists and the seven Honorable Mention Award Winners for the 2016 Small Business of the Year Awards presented by SouthTowne Motors and UBS Financial Services, Inc. The judges graded each applicant in six categories: Revenue Growth, Growth Strategy, Uniqueness, Industry Longevity, Community Involvement and Chamber Involvement.

The Top 10 Finalists are Cardinal Waste Solutions, LLC, CMIT Solutions, Crezent #Managed Marketing, Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Laser Center, Fine Lines Art & Framing, Inc., Infiniti of South Atlanta/Heritage Automotive, Kason Industries, Inc., Liberty Tax Service, Penco Restoration and Senoia Law Office.

The 2016 Honorable Mention Award Winners are 85 South Out and About, Advanced Technology Logistics, Inc., Arnall Grocery Company, Dr. Ralph Davis, Chiropractor, Emily’s Skincare, Leaf and Bean, and Peachtree City Obstetrics and Gynecology, PC.

The Top Ten Finalists were interviewed by the judges on June 21, 2016 at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber. Adding the interview scores to the application scores, the judges then determined three category winners—the Entrepreneur Category (1-5 Employees), the Growth Category (6-19 Employees), the Employer Category (20-99 Employees)—and then the SouthTowne Motors and UBS Financial Services, Inc. Small Business of the Year Award Overall Winner.

Results will be announced on August 25, 2016, during the Small Business of the Year Awards and Celebration, set for 4-7 p.m.at the Newnan Centre, 1515 Lower Fayetteville Road, Newnan. Tickets for the event are $20 for Chamber members, $35 for non-members, and are available at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber or online at newnancowetachamber.org or by calling 770.253.2270.

The Small Business of the Year Awards are part of a full afternoon of activities including a Portraits of Prosperity Panel with former Small Business of the Year Award Winners at 4 p.m., the announcement of the award winners at 4:30 p.m., and a Celebration Reception at 5:30 p.m. honoring all of the Small Business Winners and Nominees.

The Chamber noted that a number of sponsors help make the Small Business of the Year Awards possible. Small Business is big business in Coweta County and nationwide. Nearly 97 percent of all businesses employ fewer than 100 employees, and these establishments account for 54 percent of the workforce. Small business accounts for two-thirds of job growth, and small businesses are key contributors to a growing and prosperous economy.
