Romeo and Juliet Text to Media Application Project

YOUR TASK:

Create a Facebook profile with informational pages (via a template to look like the Internet pages, but it willNOT actually be inFacebook) for a major character in Romeo and Juliet.

You do not have to pick Romeo or Juliet; it could be one of the supporting characters that we know a lot about.

This is your final project for the play, so it is a major grade! Use your time wisely. Presentations need to be accurate, entertaining, and representative of the variety of characters in Romeo and Juliet!

Include the following components:

Page One:

Components:

Profile/Picture Section/About Me Section (time period accurate and school appropriate)

  • Find a picture on the Internet to use as your profile picture – make sure it is historically accurate
  • “About Me Section”: Think of this as a characterization time capsule of interests, hobbies, (clothes, jewelry, flowers, masks for the masquerade ball, weapons) etc. for your character, what would they doodle. Use this section to give insight into the personality of your character.

Friends (school appropriate and time period accurate)

  • You need at least 6 friends in your friends’ section.
  • Portraits of those individuals your character would willingly spend time with, together with detailed captions about why they’re friends.DO NOT CHOOSE ENEMIES – THEY WOULD NOT BE FRIENDS.
  • You don’t have to use only pictures from the video version we’ve watched; any Middle Aged portrait for that gender and characterization would be fine and careful captioning will make identities clear

Events (school appropriate and time period accurate)

  • Give some insight into the events your character might attend during this time period
  • Give at least three events that your character plans to attend

Wall Comments (NewsFeed): What’s on your Mind? (school appropriate and text accurate)

  • Post at least 5 separate comments from your character based on his/her actions and the occurrences in the play
  • Have at least 2 different conversations between your character and some of his/her friends – Post at least 6 comments per conversation between your character and friends
  • Look for classic quotes from your character, famous lines, etc. during reading and note page numbers and the first few words
  • Put these characterization comments in a font and presentation style that reveals your character’s personality, motivation, etc.

Page Two: Survey question responses (time period accurate and school appropriate)

{This will be on a separate template}

  • A list of survey questions will be provided for you; you will need to answer those questions, to the best of your ability, as the character you have chosen
  • Use textual knowledge combined with historical knowledge and common sense
  • Consider your character’s personality when selecting font, colors, backgrounds, and phrasing responses to questions
