PSUK Dinghy Regatta 2017

2.2 / The PSUK Dinghy Sailing Championships will be held on Tuesday 27th June 2017 – single handed event and Weds 28th Thurs 29th June 2017 – PSUK Regatta for single and double handed crews.
3 / Rules
3.1 / The PSUK Dinghy Sailing Championships will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-2016, the prescriptions of the RYA, appropriate Class Rules and the Sailing Instructions for the event.

Eligibility C Competitors
4.1 / Competition shall be confined to members of Police Sport UK affiliated clubs who have been sworn in as paid constables, paid police support staff, paid cadets, retired police officers or retired members of police support staff, as defined in Rule 39 of the Police Sport UK Constitution.4.2 / All craft entered in the PSUK Dinghy Sailing Championships shall be mono-hull dinghies or two person keel boats having an overall length not exceeding 22 feet and have a recognised Portsmouth Yardstick.
4.4 / All competitors must have completed an entry form for the event and submitted this by Friday 16th June 2017 and paid the required fee before the preparatory signal for the first race of the series.

Advertisin Designation
5.1 / The event designated category C in accordance with ISAF Reg. 20.6 / Registration
6.1 / Competitors can download an Entry Form and Notice of Race from the Police Sailing website. Alternatively, they may contact the MPSC administrator for these documents. This should be done before Friday 16th June 2017 to allow the fleet size to be gauged for the purpose of safety cover.
6.2 / Registration for the Championships is open from 1st February 2017.
6.3 / Every competing boat shall have a valid measurement certificate. The race committee may request production of this certificate for inspection upon registration or at any reasonable time during the Championships.
7 / Fees
7.1 / The entry fee for the PSUK Dinghy Sailing Championship Day One is £15.
Entry for Day 2 and 3 is £30 for single handed dinghies and £45 for double crewed boats.
8 / Racing Area and Sailing Programme
8.1 / Racing will be conducted on the Solent.
8.2 / Weather permitting, the PSUK Dinghy Championships will consist of:
- 4 races on Day One. [Single handed event]
- 4 races on Day Two.
- 3 races on Day Three.
Briefing 10:00hrs each morning on the 1st Floor SBSC Clubhouse
Race 1 on each day: First warning not before 10.40hrs. Further races will follow as directed by the Race Officer.
9 / Scoring System
9.1 / This is a handicapped event and shall be scored in accordance with RRS Appendix A Low Points System.
9.2 / It is intended to sail four races on Day One. There must be a minimum of three races completed to constitute a series. On the completion of three races, a discard may be taken. If less than three races are completed no discard will be allowed.
The PSUK regatta on Days Two and Three. The completion of three races will allow one discard and will constitute a series in the event of not being able to sail more races due to unfavourable weather conditions. The completion of all seven scheduled races will allow two discards.

10.1 / Sailing instructions (SI) will be available from the Police Sailing website and available on the day.11 /
Insurance Insurance
11.1 / Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum of £2,000,000 Third Party liability.12 /
Accommo Accommodation
12.1 / Competitors should research accommodation ‘On Line’ if required.12.2 / Camping - There is limited camping available at SBSC in the sailing compound for this event. This will be charged at £10 per person per night and should be applied for upon registration. This will be on a strict first come, first served basis.
13 / Administration
13.1 / Hot drinks and food are available from Pebbles Café and Bistro next door to SBSC.
Entry entitles competitors to day membership of SBSC and use of clubhouse facilities.
The Clubhouse bar will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, with hot food and a band playing on Wednesday night. Prize Giving will take place approximately one hour after each event has concluded.
A large Pay & Display car- park adjoins SBSC.
