a) GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING THE PAPERS
This document explains and demonstrates how to prepare your camera-ready manuscript for the Second International Proficiency Testing Conference Proceeding. The best is to read these instructions and follow the outline of this text. Responsibility for the content of published papers rests upon the authors, not the Conference Organizers.
The text area for your manuscript must be identical with the file Example.doc. Please do not place any text outside this area anddo not modify the current layout of this file.
How to name the full length paper:
Family name of the first author_theme code_O(for orally)_paper code.doc

Your manuscript will be reduced by approximately 15% by the publisher. Please keep this in mind when designing your figures and tables etc. It is our goal to be relatively flexible in the format, yet maintain a reasonable degree of consistency between papers in the finished product. Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines and the deadline is greatly appreciated.

The paper should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat no later than 15th May, 2009.Final version of the papers should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat by 31st May, 2009.
b) WRITING INSTRUCTIONS
Please use only on the first page the header 1 like in the file Example.doc. On the pages 2, 3 … use the header 2.

The title of the paper manuscript must be in capital letters, Arial, 14-font size, bold and centred. Use more than one line if necessary, but always use single-line spacing.
Authors, affiliations
Then, after two blank lines, centred, type the lead Author’s name, the second Author’s name and so on (first name and family name). Authors from the same institution should be listed together with reference number. On the following line type the affiliation (Name of the institution and Full address: Street, no., Postal code, City, State/ Province, Country). On the following line type the e-mail addresses of the authors. The authors’ names must be in Arial, 12-font size, bold and centered. Affiliations and e-mail addresses must be in Arial, 12-font size, regular and centered.
Abstract
The abstract should start after leaving two blank lines after the e-mail address. Type the text of the abstract using the normal style: Arial, 12-font size, regular and single-spaced in one paragraph. The abstract should not exceed ½ A4 page (approx. 300 words). Please use only text; do NOT use: subscript, superscript, “, equations, ş, ţ, ă, â, î, Ş, Ţ, Î etc.
Keywords
After two blank lines, list the keywords covered in your paper. Use Arial, 12-font size, italic.
1 Introduction
The first heading should follow the key words, after leaving two blank lines. All manuscripts must be in English or in Romanian. Please keep a second copy of your manuscript in your office (just in case anything gets lost in the mail). When receiving the manuscript, we assume that the corresponding authors grant us the copyright to use the manuscript for the proceeding in question. Should authors use tables or figures from other Publications, they must ask the corresponding publishers to grant them the right to publish this material in their paper.
Use italic for emphasizing a word or phrase. Please do not use boldface typing or capital letters except for section headings (cf. remarks on section headings, below).

2 THE TEXT
The proceedings will be produced directly from author-prepared manuscripts, in electronic form, on A4 paper size 297 mm x 210 mm (8.27” x 11.69”). The main body of the manuscript (the first paragraph) follows the first heading, after two blank lines.
Never use bold except as indicated for the titles. Never underline any text. Please do not insert other headers and footers then those indicated in the file Example.doc.
All papers, using only MS-Word processor (.pdf is not accepted), are single-spaced pages limited to 8 pages, including figures, tables, and references. However, the maximum size of the electronic file should not exceed about 1024 KB (or 1MB). The font type of body text including abstract of all papers, should be Arial with a size of 12, and should be left and right justified. The paper’s upper and lower margins should be 2,5 cm (0,98”), with left and right margins of 2,5 cm (0,98”) and with header and footer of 1 cm (0,39”).
2.1 Headings, subheadings and indenting
The headings are in capital letters, Arial, bold, size of 12 (Heading 1, Heading 2 etc.). Subheadings are in lower case letters Arial bold, size of 12 (Subheading 2.1, Subheading 2.2 etc.). The headings and subheadings are not indented. There are two blank lines before and one after the heading. There is 1 blank line before and after the subheadings. All headings and subheadings must be numbered, aligned left. If a heading or subheading falls at the bottom of a page it will be transferred to the top of the next page.
The first line of a new paragraph should not be indented. There is a blank line between two paragraphs.
2.2 Figures and tables
Figures, line drawings, photographs, tables… should be placed in the appropriate location, aligned centre, and positioned close to the citation in the document. They should have a caption, 12 Arial font size, with a dash dividing the figure number and the table number and the title (e.g. Figure 1 – Standard deviation for repeatability in comparison with that required by the standards) and should be numbered consecutively, e.g. Figure 1, Figure 2, Table 1, and Table 2.
Figure title should be placed at the bottom of the figure, aligned centre, leaving enough space so that the caption will not be confused with the text. Utmost care must be taken to insert the figures in correct alignment with the text. If possible, please include your figures as graphic images in the electronic version.

A descriptive table title should be placed at the top of the table, aligned centredwitha paragraph spacing of 6 points before and after it.

2.3 Equations
Equations (refer in text with: Eq. 1, Eq. 2 etc.) should be centred, with equation number put in parentheses at the right-hand edge of the text, one blank line above and below it before the text continues.

2.4 Lists
A bulleted list should have the following suggested spacing:
- Skip a line before making a bulleted list, and after the last bullet skip another line;
- Last bullet example.
A number list should follow the same basic spacing rules as the bulleted list:
- the first list item;
- a second item;
- the last numbered item.
2.5 References
At the end of the paper, list all references, underneath the heading REFERENCES, as in the example below. References should be cited in the text by square brackets [1], [2] etc. Two or more references at a time may be put in one set of brackets [3,4].
For book references, publisher and the publisher’s location should be added if possible.
Please do not use free line between the references.
