Project proposal Format

Each proposal must be submitted in the prescribed format, consisting of

1.  cover sheet

2.  table of contents

3.  abstract page

4.  proposal narrative

5.  appendices

1.COVER SHEET (1 page)

It serves as the candidate’s participation form. It will include the name of the candidate, student number, project’s module number, project’s title, e-mail address and contact phone number of the candidate.

2. TABLE OF CONTENTS (1 page)

Use one page table listing the different parts of your proposal and the page number on which each part begins.

3.ABSTRACT (50-200 words)

Project's definition of problem solving in IT, goals of the project and the contribution to IT world or society.

4.PROPOSAL NARRATIVE (not more than 4 pages)

I.  Project Title

A brief description of the project. The type and category of your project. (eg. AI, Networking, Web-application, Database system, Tools, Utility, Administration, Security, Control System, CAD , CAM, CAL, Multi-medium Software, CASE and etc.)

II. Objectives

A numbered list (1, 2, etc.) of each objective - in most cases, each

objective can be stated in a single sentence.

III. Justification for each objective

Discuss the potential outcome in terms of technology, methodology , application or improvement in IT solution. This section should be numbered with a justification corresponding to each objective.

IV .Literature Review

Briefly describe relevant information currently available. (eg. Text book, white paper etc.)

V. Approach and Methods

Describe in detail how to carry out your project. Describe how the method or approach will support the project’s goals. (eg. Methodology, Algorithm, Component, Development tools, Computer Language, Customized software, etc.)

VI. Impact Assessment

Please state how you will evaluate the success of your project.

5. These appendices must be included in the proposal.

A. Proposed list of literature references (alphabetically by author).

B.  A timetable that includes what will be accomplished under each of the objectives during the project and when completion of each objective is anticipated.
