Strategic Context

RMIT seeks to develop excellence and scale in research through four recognised levels of research concentration. These four levels are, in order of increasing size and complexity: a) individual academic staff in Schools, b) Research Groups, c) Research Centres and d) Research Institutes. RMIT’s framework for research is designed to deliver excellent research outcomes and create opportunities for academic staff who wish to form teams and work collaboratively, often across traditional disciplinary boundaries. Each of RMIT’s internal research structures makes an important contribution to the achievement of RMIT’s aspirations for research.
