About the role and you:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Road Safety/Traffic Management Engineer to join our Brisbane office in Albion. This is a pivotal role, which will be involved in the delivery of significant projects, contributing to winning work for the QLD/NT region.
You will work across a number of different road engineering disciplines such as road safety traffic engineering, data analysis and road design. Gain experience and knowledge working with educated, intelligent and personable ARRB team of professionals who contribute at the local, national and international levels of their field. Through actively participating within the ARRB team opportunities to submit conference abstracts and travel also prevent themselves. The role also provides travel opportunities within QLD and NT, and on a project by project basis to other states and territories across Australia.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Contribute to the provision of road safety and traffic management services to clients in QLD, the NT and Australia nationally
- Deliver a wide range of consulting and research projects in the road safety and traffic engineering areas
- Develop effective working relationships with key local government, state government and other related clients, ideally with an established network of contacts in the QLD marketplaces
- Contribute technical knowledge to projects managed by others
- Identify and follow up work opportunities through contacts and technical knowledge
- Prepare bids and proposals including method, cost budget and timetable.
Skills & experience:
- Civil Engineering or relevant Science degree
- Relevant project experience in one or more of the following road engineering disciplines:
- road safety
- road design
- traffic engineering
- road crash analysis and investigation
- Working experience (minimum 3 years)
- Well-developed research, analytical and technical skills
- Project management skills appropriate for research, consulting and service-based projects
- Be an innovative thinker - more than just perpetuating current practices
- Highly developed report writing and presentation skills
- Be eligible for RPEQ registration
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office).
