Solenoid

It is important to measure the resistances of each coil in order to properly tune the solenoid drivers on the Main Control board. To do so:

  • Take each assembled coil and place a multimeter probe at each end of wire coming off of the coil.
  • Set the multimeter to measure resistance.
  • Record the value of the resistance for EACH COIL in the Table below

Solenoid / Measure Resistance [Ω]
HR8 Coil
HR4 Coil
HR2 Coil
HR1 Coil

Setting Control Voltages

  • Using the recorded resistances for each coil (see the table in the Solenoid section, above), calculate the required voltage via . Alternatively, refer to Table 2 at the bottom of this page for voltages for pre-determined coil resistance values.
  • Do not connect the solenoids. Power-up the board by connecting the power cable to J2.
  • Place multimeter probes between TP11 and GND.
  • Set multimeter to measure voltage.
  • Refer to Table 1 and calculate the required voltage for HR8 Coil.
  • Slowly adjust R16 by turning it either clockwise or counter-clockwise until the voltage on the multimeter matches the calculated voltage.
  • Place multimeter between TP12 and GND
  • Refer to Table 1 and calculate the required voltage for HR4 Coil.
  • Slowly adjust R18 by turning it either clockwise or counter-clockwise until the voltage on the multimeter matches the calculated voltage.
  • Place multimeter between TP13 and GND
  • Refer to Table 1 and calculate the required voltage for HR2 Coil.
  • Slowly adjust R20 by turning it either clockwise or counter-clockwise until the voltage on the multimeter matches the calculated voltage.
  • Place multimeter between TP14 and GND
  • Refer to Table 1 and calculate the required voltage for HR1 Coil.
  • Slowly adjust R22 by turning it either clockwise or counter-clockwise until the voltage on the multimeter matches the calculated voltage.
