a)Health fair (Hazel Millar and Jo Hofman): venues went really well this year. We could maybe consolidate it further. The good weather helped make Acorn School in particular a great success as a venue. Gluten free stall did very well. Natural Health centre also worked well. Perhaps more events throughout the year as well as the biennial health fair would be worth thinking about. Possibly too many classes which sometimes clashed with each other.
b)Patient Participation Group (Marilyn Miles): a small loyal group attend regularly. I have been in the post for just under a year. As well as being the chair of Prices Mill PPG I also attend a PPG cluster in the locality (Stroud or Berkeley Vale). The CCG also runs events, of which I’ve been to 2, about what is happening in the NHS locally and nationally. We have continued our good relationship between the practice and patients that Kate Kay had begun. We rely on the good offices of the Practice Manager (currently Suzie Colley). See the display in the foyer – “You said, we did.”
c)Website (Paul Hofman): all going well. Thanks to Paul H and Marilyn for their work on this.
d)Walking Festival (Marilyn Miles): to take place in May 2016.
e)Talks (Jo Hofman): to take place during the Walking Festival and possibly a diet-related talk at Prices Mill via PPG.
f)Defibrillator (Elfie Klinger): no feedback on whether it has been used but it has been deployed. Elfie will look into the process of obtaining feedback on this. Thank you to Elfie for doing the weekly maintenance.
g)Gluten free group (Jo):it is thriving. Feedback has been good. Successful events at Asparagasm in 2015. Website launched recently too, which will soon be linked to the NHP one.
- Any other business
- Charity Gift Aid Declaration form which will be put on the website for downloading. A work in progress.
- AileenBendall spoke about the Carers Support Group which meets on the 1st Wednesday afternoon of each month. Please contact Aileen for more information.
After completing the AGM agenda, we had a brief discussion around the idea of looking at how we are doing, especially in relation to how to attract a wider range of members: to be further discussed once the walking festival is over. We will have a meeting in September to have a talk and discussion group around this.
