Ellington Ambulance Executive Board Minutes September 12, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by President Peter Hany

ERP 512 Liasion: -The Rescue Post will be having the Boxes of Hope on 9/16-9/17- looking to collect any non-perishable food items.

-  The Rescue Post is also having a Munsons Chocolate bar fundraiser, each chocolate bar is $2.00 and the money has to be collected by 10-3.

Training: - Those who missed the Opiates training, it has been assigned for you to complete in Target Safety.

-Brian Platt spoke to the Executive Board about becoming a consultant for EVAC to build a curriculum for the purposes of establishing longevity and sustainability.

-There will be a town wide EMS/Fire Hazmat Drill coming up in October. The understanding is that all three of the shelters Ellington has in place will also be utilized as part of this drill: locations are at Crystal Lake School, Ellington Middle School, and Ellington High School.

Technology- Operative IQ is up and running, if you should have any questions, contact Brandon. There is also a tutorial available in the office for anyone who is interested in reviewing it.

Incentive- Tonya has been working with Jack Rick from EFD in order to get everything up and running.

Social- Please keep in mind that if we would like to have our annual banquet, we need a committee to set this up. Also, at this point, there appears that no one has shown any interest in organizing a Thanksgiving Dinner

Advisory Board- The next meeting will be held here at EVAC on 9/25/17 at 7:00 p.m.

Membership Committee- An updated report was read on membership status. The next meeting will be on 9/25/17 @ 5:30 p.m. at EVAC.

-A motion was made and passed that the use of any EVAC vehicles shall be in accordance with EVAC as well as the Town Policies ( SOG 41.2)

-Also, please keep in mind that when returning back from an ambulance call, please do not utilize the running lights.

OLD BUSINESS

NAEMT- still waiting to hear back from them, as we did indicate we would like to renew our membership.

Cameras- We are looking into adding an additional two cameras to include full coverage of the ambulance bay area.

The annual Firefighters/EMT Mass will be held in Norwich on 10/14/17 @ 5:00 p.m.

New Business

-A motion was made and passed to approve both Paul O’Neil and Kaitlyn Connelly as Rescue Post Advisors.

-A thank you card was read from Lori Spielman for the Edible Arrangement EVAC sent as a thank you for all the landscaping work she completed for the building.

- Lori Spielman approved EVAC the ability to utilize VINTEC and ERM in situations where we need extra staffing due to lack of coverage.

-A card will be sent to Nike Dicorletto wishing him well with his current health issues.

Officer’s Reports

President: -Please fill out your beneficiary forms and turn into Pete.

-Charter Revision Committee for the town is meeting in October, and would like to include the ability to remove a service (ie; fire, ems) if they do not feel the service provided is not adequate.

Vice President: Please complete “The I am Responding” Questionnaire and return to Simon as soon as possible.

- A motion was made and approved to amend the SOG (20.2.1.4) to include that a member who would qualify for a medic radio, must demonstrate strong EMT/EMR Skills.

Training: Anyone who is taking a class needs to fill out a reimbursement form and submit to Brandon.

- This month’s training 9/18- will be with the Connecticut Parachute Organization

- October’s training 10/16 –will be with Eversource

Secretary: Minutes accepted as read

Treasurer: All financial reports were read. The balance for CAG is currently $23,369.16, and the balance for Medicare is currently $5,144.00

- A motion was made and passed to grant April Phelps $500.00 from the Rescue Post Scholarship fund.

Scheduling: We still need to address any gaps in the schedule. Alicia was very thankful for those who have taken additional call time.

Maintenance: Please let Peter know if you see anything that needs to be fixed, replaced, etc.

Public Relations: -We should look into putting an article in North Central News - Three patient survey’s came back as excellent.
