Hello everyone,

I am very pleased to attach for your information the APCC Organizational – Operational Review Final Report dated April 15, 2011, prepared by Halifax Global Inc. The consultant worked with the APCC Governance Committee and his findings were considered by the Governance Committee in making recommendations to the APCC Board in November 2010 that lead to revised by-laws, which have been circulated previously, and a new revenue sharing model to fund the provincial chambers.

At the AGM on May 13, 2011, voting delegates will be asked to approve the revised by-laws and any additions or changes proposed at the AGM. Please read the background document and report carefully as well as the Corrections/Clarification document.

Please note: These documents are in English only. Attention : Ces documents sont en anglais seulement.

Sincerely,

To:
Hi everyone....
Just letting you know Isaac & Blewett are making a rare appearance in Halifax.... come out to say hi, it would be great to see you!
We're playing this Friday afternoon from 2-4 and Saturday at noon at 'Saltscapes' held at Exhibition Park, kind of musical ambassadors for Harvest Jazz & Blues and NB. Great event with all kinds of food to sample, fellow musicians too like Ross Neilson & Thom Swift, Ardith and Jennifer, crafts, displays from all over Atlantic Canada....plan to spend a few hours there!
Friday April 29, Saturday April 30
Halifax Exhibition Park SALTSCAPES EAST COAST EXPO

Then the following Saturday we're closer to home..... HOPEWELL CAPE
Our friend Kevin Snair (who did the graphics for our last album and poster) is having Tim and I to play for his scout troop on May 7 at 7:30 . He did a great job on that stuff and we are trading him for a gig for his scout troop. Nice eh. We'd love to see a good crowd there, and only about 30 minutes from Moncton.
Here are the details: Saturday May 7, 7:30 pm Hopewell Cape
SCOUT TROOP FUNDRAISER at Hopewell Cape Community Hall on the Museum property. Tickets are $10.00 and should be pre-booked by calling Alan at 734-3510. There will be home-made sweets for sale during intermission and all money raised will go to support the local Scout Troop.
Spring has sprung as they say and parsnips left in the ground over the winter are incredibly sweet and the first thing out of the ground. Walks without snowshoes and wood for next year are on the agenda. Lettuce on the windowsills and having to eat the fiddleheads put up last year because they are coming next from the EARTH and we don't even have to plant them fancy that.

Hi Michelle!

Could you please pass this message along to our ACTA members?

Kathy and have returned from a winter in Guatemala and are now busy getting ready to begin Baymount’s 21st year of operation – where has the time gone? I have many housekeeping items on my to-do-list, including the selling of the final inventory of the Shorebird DVD that we produced a few years ago. This summer we hope to have a high definition camera and are considering another shorebird video, so we are clearing out the present inventory at a cost of $7.50 + tax. They are available only as a purchase and if you are interested please let me know asap.

Thanks again and have a great summer.

Sincerely,
Richard Faulkner

Subject: Last reminder - Stakeholders Summit 2011/Dernier rappel - Sommet des intervenants 2011
To:
Dear Disability Stakeholder:

Each year, as part of Disability Awareness Week, we host a Legislative Breakfast. We invite Cabinet Ministers,

Deputy-Ministers and other key government program officials to share breakfast and conversation with

representatives from disability consumers, service providers and disability advocates from around the province.

Premier David Alward will deliver the keynote address at the breakfast.

This year, we are also hosting a two-day Disability Stakeholders Summit. The Summit will take place on

May 30th (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) and 31st (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) with the Legislative Breakfast to be held

on May 31st.

Workshops are planned on both days which will focus on various issues identified by the community of persons

with disabilities. Our hope is that by bringing together stakeholders and government representatives, priorities

and strategies will be identified to help address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities.

Because space is limited, we reserve the right to select participants. Interested persons are asked to attend both

days of the summit as well as the Legislative Breakfast. Information regarding the program and sessions

schedule will be sent to you shortly.

Interested participants are asked to complete the attached registration form and return it to the address

provided by May 6th, 2011.

Feel free to share this invitation throughout your networks.

Through the generous support of our sponsors, there is no charge to summit participants. Nutrition breaks,

lunches and the legislative breakfast will be provided.

Funds are available to assist those who otherwise would not be able to attend.

Those individuals selected to attend the breakfast and Summit will be contacted upon receipt of their completed

registration form.

Dear ACTA and Chamber members,
The 1st Chocolate River Scouts are hosting a fundraising concert featuring Isaac & Blewett. The concert will be held at the Hopewell Cape Community Hall on Saturday May 7th starting at 7:30. Tickets are $10.00 per person and should be purchased in advance by calling Alan at 734-3510. Tickets may be available at the door but seating is limited so we reccomend calling to reserve your tickets in advance. There will be a canteen selling home-made baked goods during intermission.
All funds raised will go directly to the running of the local Scouting program. Our Troop meets every Tuesday in Hillsborough and focus on developing our youth to become good stewards of our community and environment. We also participate in many outings outside of our regular meetings. This year we took part in a District weekend competition where they placed third out of Groups from accross the province and beyond. We held a winter campout in February where we built and slept in igloos while learning other outdoor skills. We hiked Shepody Mountain and the Hillsborough Dykes and participated in the Rememberance Day ceremony. We have a campout scheduled for this weekend where we will help conduct the Annual Owl Count in Fundy National Park. We also have plans to visit the Hopewell Rocks by foot and kayak and conduct a roadside cleanup in the Lower Cape area. None of these outings would be possible without a successful fundraising event.
Please come out and support our youth. They look forward to seeing you at the concert.
Your local Scout Leaders (Kevin Snair, Ken Stevens & Alan Demaline)

Hi Michelle,

Would you please send this attached message to your email list, it’s regarding the Waterside Church. I am hoping that others will see this notice, the church is a landmark in our area and we would not like to see it removed and if possible maybe use it for tourist information and historical building for the area.

The meeting should shed some light on the ownership of the building since it’s a Baptist church the Baptist association is involved.

Thank you,

To our valued Economic Partners,

I am happy to report that Industry Canada’s Small Business Internship Program (SBIP) has been renewed for the upcoming fiscal year 2011/12. An article in our local paper recently announced that UNBSJ’s E Commerce Center is the delivery partner for this very worthwhile program

This program involves a 75% wage reimbursement for employers to hire a current post secondary student to assist in website E Marketing strategies, with the overall goal of making the Business more competitive!

All details pertaining to the program can be found at

Attached is the new 2011/12 Application for the SBIP. I will be working with the folks at UPEI, U de M, UNB, NBCC etc to assist Employers recruit “keen students that are seeking Spring & Summer work placements.

There has already been great interest from Businesses and ,as mentioned in the TJ article above, the SBIP placements are limited ( ~ 25 for NB & PE ) therefore I encourage you to promote this to your respective local business at your earliest convenience.
