Understanding Classzone
Created by Mrs. Mayle
Our 7th grade Pre-Algebra curriculum is provided with an unbelievable tool. McDougal-Litell has created a website that provides additional resources to teachers, students and parents. In order to help you better understand all of the resources, I have created this guided explanation of things listed on
1. Open up Firefox.
2. In the browser bar, please type:
3. On the main page of the website, you should see a picture similar to this.
4. Please make sure that all of the items circled above are selected in order to find the appropriate resources.
5. You will then be asked to select our textbook. Here is a picture of our book.
6. Once you have selected our textbook, you should see a screen like the one below.
7. This document will help you find the most appropriate tool to use during class or while preparing for a test. Below, I have listed a handful of links that I feel are most helpful to students as they are learning our Pre-Algebra curriculum. Click on the titles below for a brief description and examples of each resource.

The eWorkbook is a wonderful resource for students looking to find extra practice problems. There are a variety of questions based on each section in our textbook. Make sure you don’t click “Check Answers” until the very end. It will give you graded feedback about how you did!
Save this until you have answered all questions!
Return to the table of contentsSection Quizzes
The Section Quizzes is another resource for students looking to find extra practice problems. All of the questions that are presented in Section Quizzes are provided in a multiple-choice format. Make sure you don’t click “Check Answers” until the very end. It will give you graded feedback about how you did! This gives children the ability to narrow in on a particular topic they are concerned about.
Return to the table of contentsChapter Tests
Chapter Tests is a section that allows students to test their knowledge about a variety of content. The tests are broken down according to the chapters in the book, but the sections are not assessed in order. This gives students the ability to assess their overall knowledge of a unit, rather than one specific lesson. This part of the website provides students with side by side comparison (see below) of the answers after completing a portion or all of the test.
Return to the table of contentsPuzzles and Games
The resources on this portion of Classzone provide students with interactive and entertaining ways to review concepts from each of the chapters learned. Students can take part in a road-trip to review solving equations, fill out a crossword puzzle to review vocabulary or play a variety of other games.
