REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 29, 2017
I. Roll Call: Christy Cameron, Jason Coffman, Sharon Elwood, and Kyla White. Also present: Matt Renaud, Sue Borger, Cindy Villalobos, Emma Howe, and Matt Renaud, Jr. Time noted 6:00 p.m.
II. Recognition of Visitors/Public Participation
A. REA representative reported on the STAR reading and math results, PARCC testing, PreK Family event on March 17, Page family fundraiser dinner on April 27, and discussed the need for new science textbooks.
B. PTO representative Kyla White reported that orders are being taken for the Big Blue discount cards. The Mom to Mom sale will be April 22.
Misty Johannes arrived at 6:05 p.m.
III. Approved the consent agenda items with additional bills. Motion by White. Second by Coffman. Aye votes by roll: Cameron, Coffman, Elwood, Johannes, and White. Motion carried.

V. Old Business
A. Budget update. No good news from the state. Funds will be prorated.
VI. New Business.
A. Approval of the 2017-2018 school calendar. Motion by Cameron. Second by Elwood. Aye votes by roll: Cameron, Coffman, Elwood, Johannes, and White. Motion carried.
B. Approval to adopt a resolution regarding the 1% county facility sales tax revenue will be used to abate any annual debt service that is outstanding first prior to other annualneeds or improvements. Motion by Cameron. Second by Elwood. Aye votes by roll: Cameron, Coffman, Elwood, Johannes, and White. Motion carried.
C. Discussed purchasing power from AGE
VIII. Superintendent’s Report
Mr. Renaud discussed : discipline, PARCC testing, spelling bee winers are Elijah Buerk and Lily Chitwood, all Raccoon music contest students won 1st except Elijah Buerk who won 1st superior, students exhibited good behavior at the Senior Citizens dinner and on the Springfield field trip. End of school events: 8th grade dinner May 12, graduation May 18, and the last day of school May 30.

IX. Adjourn to closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the district or legal counsel for the district, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee. Specifically, to discuss staffing needs for the 2017-2018 school year. Motion by White. Second by Coffman. Aye votes by roll: Cameron, Coffman, Elwood, Johannes, and White. Motion carried. Time noted 7:04 p.m.
X. Reconvene to open session. Motion by White. Second by Cameron. Aye votes by roll: Cameron, Coffman, Elwood, Johannes, and White. Motion carried. Time noted 7:30 p.m.
XI. Approve closed session minutes. Motion by Cameron. Second by Coffman Aye votes by roll: Cameron, Coffman, Elwood, Johannes, and White. Motion carried.
