Ms. Patricia McMahon serves as Program Manager-Outreach & Technical Assistance for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) - Denver Field Office. She is a speaker and panelist on technical aspects of EEOC’s policies and procedures.
She oversees and coordinates message development, communications planning and media relations for the EEOC - Denver Field Office. She is a trainer with the EEOC National Training Institute and is an expert in the area of federal EEO Counseling and federal EEO Investigation. She also serves as the EEOC - Denver Field Office congressional liaison and chair of the annual EEOC-Denver Technical Assistance Program Seminar.
Ms. McMahon is Chair of the annual Pathways to Respecting American Indian Civil Rights Conference; co-chair of the Federal Inter-Departmental Task Force on Civil Rights; sits on the executive committee of the Denver Metro Interagency Transition Team; sits on the executive committee of Removing the “H” Word; served on the executive committee for the State of Colorado’s 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (25th-on-the-25th); serves on the White House Initiative on Asian American and Pacific Islanders; and was selected for the 2014-15 National Federal Asian Pacific American Council Challenge Team.
Ms. McMahon began her career with EEOC as an investigator after graduating with honors from Metropolitan State University of Denver. During her tenure with EEOC she has served as an investigator, Acting Intake Supervisor and ADR Coordinator.
In 2004, Ms. McMahon was one of the twelve employees selected to serve on the EEOC Repositioning Work Group to reorganize the EEOC Field Offices. In 2006, she was selected to serve on the Repositioning Work Group to reorganize EEOC headquarters.
Organizations Ms. McMahon presented to include the Society for Human Resource Management, Federally Employed Women Conferences, Higher Education Diversity Summit, Colorado County Attorney’s Association Conference, Colorado Bar Association, ADA National Network Conferences, and the annual EEOC EXCEL Conference.
Ms. McMahon has received several awards for her professional and personal accomplishments. She was one of the first recipients of the EEOC Chair’s Organizational/CORE Award. In 2014 she received the Chair's Honor Award (CHA) in Advancing Equality through Excellence Certificate of Appreciation forher work on the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
In her spare time Ms. McMahon enjoys writing. She is the author of two books. One is detective fiction and the other humor fiction.
