BANK STAFF NURSE

(zero hour contract)

RESPONSIBLE TOWard Manager

SALARYBand 5 £21,692 -£28,180 pro rata

To work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Specialist Palliative Care Team in providing holistic care to patients in assessing, implementing and evaluating patient’s plan of care.

You must registered with NMC and have a minimum of 1-year post registration experience and have excellent clinical skills and communication skills.

To work together with all disciplines involved with the total care of patients and their families, integrating nursing care with their physical, psychological and spiritual needs.

Share the responsibility within the nursing team for the planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care for patients and their families/carers.

Maintain high standard of nursing care at all times.

Participate in discussion during multi-disciplinary, ward meetings as appropriate.

Supervision of nursing staff and students..

MANAGEMENT

Ensure safe custody and administration of drugs in accordance with established procedures and legislation.

Manage/maintain a safe environment for patients, relatives and staff.

Make efficient and effective use of all resources.

Supports and supervises volunteers.

EDUCATION

Take responsibility for maintaining your professional NMCRegistration and Revalidation.

Participate in clinical supervision yearly.

Attend mandatory training as per Hospice policy.

PROFESSIONAL

To adhere to the NMC code of professional conduct at all times and maintain up-to-date registration with the NMC.

To practice in accordance with current policies and procedures of Southern Area Hospice Services.

To participate in and review written appraisal annually.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required in this post.

Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year post registration experience.

Ability to demonstrate excellent standards and practices of nursing care.

Knowledge and understanding of NMC requirements.

Knowledge in the administration of bloods.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and be sensitive to various situations.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Enthusiastic and a self motivated approach.

Patience and diplomacy and the ability to maintain a sensitive and professional approach towards colleagues and service users.

Qualifications

NMC registration.
