GLENEAGLELEADERSHIP 10-11

Joanna Horvath

OBJECTIVE: The goal of the Leadership program is to introduce the students to explore and expand their leadership skills. To do this, students will be responsible for the following: planning & running a variety of events, learning and teaching others about leadership qualities and strategies and reflecting upon what they have learned, and developing interpersonal skills within the community. Students will leave the program with a better understanding of what leadership skills they possess; they will develop a sense of pride having planned and run several events, and have a better appreciation as to the importance of teamwork and making community connections.

HOW THE CLASS WILL WORK: All students will work together to plan & run events and discuss & learn about leadership skills & strategies. Each student will be required to keep a Leadership Duotang/Log to compile class work and to record reflections. They will be expected to model appropriate behaviour at all times – remember you must be a leader of self before you can effectively lead others.
