MGR is very excited to see you hosting a show in your area and will work in helping you with your questions and getting you started.
On the pages below, you will find the format used by MGR sanction shows to record the placing/results and sending those results back to Judy Balmer, and also to Jan Likens, ,
We require each show to use the same format and this will be placed onto the show page of the MGR website.
Once the results have been emailed to Judy and Jan, the process of verification will begin. Don’t forget to mail in your Report of Awards to the MGR office within the 10 day window (see Section B, Show Officials and Judges) to meet sanction requirements.
The format below can be adjusted to fit the classes of your sanction show. You do not have to follow the age brackets as listed, but you must follow MGR sanction rules for each show (Does, Bucks, Wethers) see section D., Classes and Awards. The title for each class can also be changed to fit your personal show but each class must list the age limits for that class.
You can arrange your shows (Youth Showmanship, Doe, Buck, and Wether) in the order you would like for your show. You could also add a Pee Wee Showmanship that would be free to those children under the age of six (6) years of age. This would not be part of the sanction Youth program for points but would allow those under the age of six (6) to participate, learn and have fun.
At the top of the result page you will enter the name of the show, the name of the judge judging that show and the date. Also list the name of the facilities, city and state.
The Entries section is to tell MGR “how many goats” total for the entire show. You would count all the goats shown in all of your shows. Disqualified goats are not counted. This would be a total count (remember all MGR registered goats can show even if the owner isn’t active the goat would count .
.
You will notice at the top of each class there is a row asking for the number of entries in each class. If before or during each class a goat is scratched, disqualified, or is a no-show, we would like to see that information listed on the row where the goats name is listed.
You would use:
DQ for disqualified (any reason Judge disqualifies a goat)
NS for no-show (any goat that does not show up for the class it has entered)
Sfor scratched (a goat that is scratched/removed from the class for any reason before the class begins, i.e.: no ID, wrong ID, health, injury, without registration certificate, etc.)
In each class, on the second row, you will find columns listing, Name of Goat, Owner/ Exhibitor and #1, #2.
Name of Goat- exact name that is used on the registration certificate with no abbreviations.
Owner/Exhibitor-this would be the person listed as owner on the registration certificate unless the exhibitor has a Transfer application dated within 45 days of the show. See Section C., Regulations for MGR Registered Animals. Or, if a handler with consent is showing you can use their name. Consent forms need to be mailed into the MGR office along with the Report of Awards forms.
#1 & #2 – These are for the First (1) show and Second (2) shows. If you are having more or less than two (2) shows, you can add or delete columns to fit your show format. In the columns listed as #1 & #2, you would put the placing for that goat listed on that row. You would also enter the DQ, NS or S as listed above for the goat listed in that class.
MGR would like to thank you for hosting a MGR sanction show in your area and expect you and everyone participating to have an enjoyable time.
