JOB TITLE: Revenue Cycle Director

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer DEPT: Revenue Cycle

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the general direction of the CFO, the Revenue Cycle Director (RCD) performs a variety of professional level management and analytical functions to direct and coordinate the activities of the following Revenue Cycle Departments: (1) Patient Access, (2) Referral Services and (3) Patient Accounts. The RCD is responsible for the supervision and professional development of subordinate personnel. The RCD’s main objective is to ensure the maximization of third-party revenue collections and cash flow while maintaining the highest levels of patient, provider, employee and other customer relations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·  Manage and develop a high degree of expertise in revenue operations, technical processes, and reports.
·  Promote effective communications between staff and departments to ensure ongoing education/training and to expedite problem resolution.
·  Maintain current knowledge of, and comply with, established policies and procedures including patient confidentiality/patient rights, government and third-party payor regulations.
·  Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and managing third-party provider relationships.
·  Responsible for the leadership, supervision, coordination and efficiency of the Revenue Cycle Departments through the respective department supervisors.
·  Evaluate, enhance and standardize work flows and processes throughout the revenue cycle and coordinate within the Revenue Cycle Departments and between other appropriate departments.
·  Produce and analyze standard periodic reports to assist in the monitoring and forecasting process and to produce materially accurate recording of third-party billings, doubtful accounts and third-party cash receipts.
·  Collaborate with departmental leadership to establish, maintain, monitor and modify work standards and relevant performance metrics for activities performed within the Revenue Cycle Departments chain of command.
·  Exercise a high degree of analytical, problem solving and team building skills together with judgment and initiative to analyze problematic situations utilizing quantitative and analytical techniques and to deal effectively with various patient, legal and revenue cycle decisions.
·  Add value to the organization through the proactive analysis of and resolution to potential bottlenecks that may negatively affect the PTHA’s patient satisfaction and third-party collections.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

Either a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business/Health Administration or related field OR a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business/Health Administration or related field and a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. A minimum of eight (8) years management experience with a work record that demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of position related processes and systems. Minimum five (5) years direct supervisory experience of five (5) or more employees. Demonstrable financial management skills, including the ability to financially analyze quantitative data for operations, budgeting internal auditing and forecasting required. Experience and/or ability to work with an electronic health records system.
