Council notes – January 11, 2016
- KGS Group provided a certificate of substantial performance on the Water Treatment Plant project.
- RCMP provided the Town with a report on statistics of activity in Radville from June to December 2015.
- R.M. of Laurier #38 notified of appointments to Radville-Laurier Regional Park for 2016.
- R.M. of Laurier #38 notification of reply to concern received with regard to the cemetery.
- Hudson Bay Route Association request for membership to association. Council reviewed and will not be purchasing a membership in 2016.
- Saskatchewan Federation of Police Officers request for support in the annual Crime Prevention Guide. Council discussed and will not be advertising in the guide this year.
- Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association supplied information on the resolutions that will be presented at the annual conference.
- The accounts for approval, Cheques No. 25752 to 25819, manual withdrawal and CUMC payment, totaling $109,475.16 were approved for payment.
- A water heater was installed in the Fire Hall.
- Unit #3 fire trucks is being stored in the back shop of the Town Office.
- Sent out requests for pricing to seven engineering firms for the Waterworks System Assessment. Requested to have quotes back by January 29.
- Working on year-end requirements.
- Sent out utility invoices before the end of the year. This was the first test for e-notices.
- RCMP delivered an electronic speed sign. The sign will rotate to different areas of the community.
- Spoke to the Ministry of Environment with regard to the waste management site and decommissioning. Will not need to decommission the site unless closing the transfer station and no longer taking any materials.
- Applied for Human Resources Development Canada summer job funding.
- Acme Sewer was called in to jet a plugged sewer line on Bertrand Avenue.
- Town staff are assisting the R.M. of Lomond at the Colgate Water Treatment Plant. Will provide service until Colgate’s Water Treatment Plant operator returns.
- Bylaw No. 2015-10 being a Bylaw to Repeal Bylaws, was read a third time and passed by council members present.
- Bylaw No. 2016-01 being a Bylaw to Provide for Establishment of Council Procedures, was given three readings at the meeting and passed by council members present.
- Bylaw No. 2016-02 being a Bylaw to Provide for Short-Term Borrowing, was given three readings at the meeting and passed by council members present.
- The Town of Radville approved the list of Council meetings for 2016. Meetings will be held the second and fourth Monday of every month.
- The Town of Radville appointed Clinton Krismer, Gordon Krismer, Brian Lynch, Reg Skinner, Don Van Beseleare, Jeff Hutton, Loretta Sernowski, and Christina Krismer as Secretary, from Gord Krismer & Associates Ltd. as the 2016 Board of Revision.
- The Town of Radville approved change order No. 8R from KGS Group for the Water Treatment Plant optimization project in the amount of $12,438.83.
- The Town of Radville will enter into a modified work arrangement for staff to average hours of no more than 80 hours in a 2-week period.
- The Town of Radville approved the inclusion of the employee code of conduct policy in the Town of Radville Policy Manual.
