“2012 Cru Classe` Bordeaux Tasting”
We are joining a spectacular tasting hosted by Spec’s at which about forty-five French chateau owners, directors and/or winemakers will be presenting over sixty Cru Classe` (mostly) wines all from the 2012 vintage. So brush up on your French to discuss the wines directly with the people who make them. You’ll get a chance to sample the just-bottled wines before they reach the retail shelves. You will be the first to rate these wines.
The tasting will be at the elegant Crystal Ballroom at the Rice Hotel. The format will be stand-up and walk-around and will include artisanal cheeses and breads chosen to absorb the wines and refresh the palate. We will taste from Riedel Degustazione (tasting) glasses. You can move around to the different wine tables as small groups of Shell Alumni and chat with others as you pause for food. Or, join friends on the balcony (weather permitting), and chat about your views of the wines and tell wine-induced jokes.
If you like Bordeaux wines, or want to discover why they are the most renowned in the world, this is an event not to be missed. Enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Shell wine lovers, and the opportunity to taste the just released vintage and join us for an evening of fun with fine wines.
