Program PROJECT Coordinator

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of Domestic violence services Education and prevention, a community based project that will educatethose families, agencies and main stream residence on prevention and education of healthy relationships,and the culturally specific resources available. Focus will be non English speaking families and agencies that provide services when domestic violence does happen. The Project coordinator reports to Executive director, the Sewa-Aifw board and executive working committee.

Project Coordinator’s responsibilities and Priorities:

  • Implements, evaluates and revises the projects strategic plan, in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Provides leadership to the Domestic violence prevention and direct services. Takes direct crisis calls and follows through with the victim in all phases of domestic violence program. Must have training in victim services or willingness to learn.
  • Serves as a primary contact to all community partners on programmatic and fiscal matters...
  • Responsible for fiscal management of the project and works with the Executive Director to review expenditure and status of the program budget.
  • Schedules and facilitates all coalition committee and workshop meetings.
  • Supervises all volunteers, contractors and consultants related to the mission and goals of the project.
  • Works with Project coordinator to prepare quarterly and other reports as required by the funding agencies.
  • Works to continuously build capacity of the coalition by seeking out additional members, organizing training and networking opportunities and supporting the work of the partner organization.
  • Overseas the development and implementation of the partner long term sustainability plan.

Candidates Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, work experience may be accepted for number of years of college.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in public health –related programming and planning, or community organizing.
  • Demonstrated leadership, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal and teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and collaboration skills working with community partners, contractors, funding agencies and volunteers.
  • Bilingual in South Asian Languages.
  • Must be mobile or have transportation
  • Is qualified to work in USA. Documentation needed.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE Services PROJECT is hosted by Sewa-Aifw and funded through different grants as well as private donations. As such, the tenure of this position is restricted to the life of the grant.
