PHASE I: AUTHORIZATION AND PLANS

PHASE II: POOL OF CANDIDATES TO INTERVIEW

After the advertisement is sent out:

September 28 Review of applications begins

October 18 Meeting to discuss top group of applicants.

October 25 Phone interviews

November 2 Meeting to discuss phone interviews. Search Committee finalizes the selection of candidates recommended for on-campus interviews. Forward names and documentation (includes criteria, justification for selection, reasons for rejection of candidates) to Dean and Office of Employee Relations and Compliance

After acceptance or modification of Search Committee’s recommendations by both the Dean and OERC, written notification of certification is sent to the Provost

November 16-30 On Campus Interviews

PHASE III: FINAL RECOMMENDATION

Search Committee interviews selected candidates, provides written justification for final recommendation, fills out request for Approval to Negotiate, forwards to Dean.

Dean approves recommendations, modifies them, or asks for further information. Forwards Request to Negotiate to Provost.

Provost accepts recommendations, or asks for further information. Notifies Dean and OERC by copy of Request.

Provost, upon approval of request, provides copy of Academic Transaction Form to Dean and OERC for files.
