MINUTES
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Springhill, Louisiana met in regular session in the Council Chambers at Springhill City Hall on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. with Mayor Carroll Breauxpresiding.
PRESENT:D. Nicole Frazier,Dennis Smith,Ross Fleming,Adam Harrisand Ronnie Dees, Aldermen.
ABSENT:None.
D. Nicole Frazier, Alderman,opened the meeting with prayer.
Carroll Breaux, Mayor, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
MOTION was made by D. Nicole Frazier, seconded by Adam Harris, to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting held on March 14, 2016.
MOTION CARRIED.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
Mayor Carroll Breaux had a recommendation from KSA Alliance, Inc. in regards to the bids for the ground water storage tanks at water well #9.
The low bid was $733,601.00 from Dixie Overland Construction, LLC.
MOTION was made by Ronnie Dees, seconded by Dennis Smith, to accept the recommendation from KSA Alliance, Inc.
MOTION CARRIED.
An ordinance entitled “A Bond Ordinance Ordinance authorizing the issuance, sale, and delivery of six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) sales tax revenue bonds series 2016, of the City of Springhill, State of Louisiana, payable solely from a one percent (1%) sales and use tax levied by the City and authorized at an election held on November 16, 1991; prescribing the form, terms and conditions of said bonds; designating the date, denomination and place of payment of said bonds; providing for the payment of principal and of interest of said bonds and for the rights of the registered owners thereof; and providing for other matters related thereto” was introduced by Ronnie Dees.
Ross Fleming was present to show just cause why his property located at 114 6th Street NE, should not be condemned.
Ross Fleming stated that he had contracted with David Jackson to demolish the structure and clean up the debris and the work was to be done on Saturday, April 16, 2016.
Mayor Breaux made a recommendation to the Council to give Ross Fleming thirty (30) days to have the property demolished and cleaned up.
MOTION was made by Ronnie Dees, seconded by D. Nicole Frazier, to accept the recommendation from the Mayor.
MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION was made by Dennis Smith, seconded by Adam Harris, to pay the bills for March 2016 totaling $66,582.82.
MOTION CARRIED.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
