General Objective

The purpose of this component is to provide training opportunities on the Evidence-Based Leadership framework. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to create a measurable accountability system in their schools and departments that aligns with a district-wide approach. Components include having measureable goals, being transparent, gaining input from relevant stakeholders, and applying employee reward and recognition programs.

Specific Objectives

Upon completion of this component, participants will be able to:

1.  Determine the relevance of creating a culture of excellence.

2.  Develop measurable goals for schools and departments that align to district goals.

3.  Develop and apply a communication system that makes results transparent to others.

4.  Consistently execute tactics to achieve measurable goals focusing on student achievement, student engagement, teacher satisfaction and parent satisfaction.

5.  Gather parent and staff satisfaction data, and with teams of employees determine strengths and areas that need improvement.

6.  Establish employee reward and recognition processes in schools/departments.

Description of Activities

District and school leaders will complete a two day training with follow-up activities to be able to apply the specific objectives above. The content will include presentation of tactics, practice sessions for applying the tactics, and feedback time blocks for peer and instructor assessments. Follow-up activities will be given at the end of the session with a very specific approach for validating the application and results of the tactics.

Evaluation of Participants

Three major types of data will be collected and analyzed to evaluate the application of the tactics – student achievement, employee satisfaction, and parent satisfaction. In addition, each leader will receive a format for completing a portfolio that includes specific information to be documented at particular times. The supervisor of the employees will review the portfolios along with oversight from a Studer Group leader coach.

Evaluation of Activity

An online evaluation will be conducted through the Santa Rosa Professional Growth System.
