Position reports to: / Chief Executive Officer
Post Summary: / This multi-faceted role holds responsibility for developing and managing the finance control function of our charitable work. It will provide functional support to the MCT Leadership team and will support MCT strategic business development activity, particularly theeffectiveadministration, financial controlandevaluation of programmes. The post holder will work closely to ensure that all programmes deliver maximum productivity and revenue.

Notice period: / Two months
Probationary period: / Three months
Hours: / 24 hours per week, 09.15am – 5.15pm (30 mins for lunch)
Flexibility: / In order to work effectively in a changing environment, flexibility is required from the post-holder.
Any other tasks that may be requested will be at the same level of responsibility and terms and conditions of employment.
Key responsibilities: / The Finance Manager will have a core operational focus for drafting, implementing and monitoring budgets and management accounts for the charity, including:
Monitoring financial performance and preparing monthly management accounts for the CEO and leadership team
Producing quarterly finance reports for the board of trustees
Overseeing and leading the annual audit process
Developing internal systems and processes to enhance organizational efficiency
Overseeing the pension and payroll functions of the organisation
Developing and implementing strategies with regard to VAT and gift aid, liaising with the financial authorities on behalf of the charity
To introduce new technology with regards to bookings and other financial processes, to meet the financial processing, control and reporting requirements
To line manage one part-time Finance Assistant
This is a critical post to the organisation, helping to ensure that our employees understand clearly the resources they have to deliverthe MCT business plan.

- To attend training sessions, conferences and meetings as required
- To co-ordinate and to be self-servicing in the finance function

Qualifications
Essential: /
- Qualified accountant with a detailed understanding of SORPS and a passion for charitable accounting
Knowledge and Experience
Essential: /
- Substantial, demonstrable and relevant experience (at least three years) in a similar financial management role
- Excellent knowledge of charities finance compliance
- Excellent knowledge and experience of finance software
Attributes and Skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent numeracy and budget management skills
- Determined, self-motivated and able to act confidently on own initiative
- Excellent planning, time management, organisational, project management and accurate record-keeping skills
- Excellent level of IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
